Crown victoria magnaflow exhaust with cobra front bumper
this is my 2003 ford crown victoria P71, 3.73 gears, port and polished plenum, K&N FIPK intake system, custom tune by kurgan motor sports, gatorback belt, cat ...
When you install 3.73s did your crown vic still go to top speed or you had
to get it programmed with a programmer..every since I put 3.73s in my car
my car governors out at 85mph so you think programmer will fix the issue
2004 Crown Vic Police Interceptor Walk Around (1 year later)
I've had the car for a year now. This walk around vid just shows some of things I've done to it since 2008. Just an update that's all. But to any other Crown Vic ...
It safe as can be. The only reason people hide their plates is if they have
a video of them speeding or doing something illegal. Having your plate on a
video showing you car is just as bad as driving around public streets.
Obviously where everybody can see your plates.
What kinda fog lights are those? That looks real clean and almost looks
like it's stock... I'm looking to do the same for my 05 p71 so please
message me what kind those are and how much they are :)
@saleen715 Haters wanna hate... I was walking sideways in grass trying to
aim a little flip camera. I didn't realize I had to put the camera on a
tripod in order to please all the d-bags.
That sure is a sweet looking CVPI. I love the color. I recently bought a
2005 Toreador red a few months ago. I absolutely love it. Keep her clean
and best of luck with her!
@1989crownvictoriap71 no, the brackets are specific. The only way you would
get one to fit an 89 would be used off ebay or if you made one/had one made.
sweet its sad to hear that ford will discontiue production on these bad
boys in 2011
CROWN VICTORIA WITH MAGNAFLOW GLASSPACKS AFTER SWAP IN CAR DRIVE
In car ride after the Magnaflow install. my other vedio has the info about the install.Ive been playing with the exhaust on my 05 P-71, i installed magnaflows and ...
+RetiredPoliceCars.com No vedio sorry, will do in future now that you mention it. The paint is rustolem, its good paint but dosnt have UV blockers, (lots of paints have blockers lots dont) it will fade. A satin urathane clear coat as the paint is setting up will prevent fade. A 100$ paint job is; Have a friend help (my gurlfriend did a lot of the sanding) find a dust free area, Get or borrow a compressor and a cheap LPHV spray gun, (i rented a compressor on 1 job i did once) some empty contanors will be handy. Wash the car, Mask the car, sand the paint with 240g. on a palm sander, wipe the dust of with rags and reducer thinner, finial wipe car with tac cloth, Thin paint just enough so the gun will spray a nice wide pattern. spray car... 2-3 litres should cover it. wait an hour, spray some clear, be careful with the clear to much will run. let dry over night. if there is going to be due in the air over night park car under cover. peel tape drive.
+RetiredPoliceCars.com Nope no welding required, its a lose fit (nicely takes up the offset) youll crank hard on the clamps (lub the threads) Muffler is Magnaflow #18134....youll lose 2 supports, i ran a piece a stepped rebar across under the pipes between the old rubber mounts, 1/2'' mild steel round stock will work too.
i found it to be quit noticable, and load enough i had to turn up the radio, conversation was a bit strained. Personally i didnt like it. 45* Exhaust tip extensions angled away from each other made a world of differance. now i like it.Snake will send you a photo of im if concidering, email im at [email protected]
After installing the glass packs, did you notice a drop in rpm while
cruising? I've only installed Flowmasters on my vehicles, but I always got
better mpg with having less restriction. I'm very close to going with these
packs for my '04 P71.
Awesome! I think I going to go with a little cement. Will post on how that works. I'm thinking washers as well. Sounds like this is a pretty strait forward process. Highly appreciate the feedback. After this, I'm going to look into some tips to bring the sound out from under the car.
+thubb6 one step closer... I didn't use pipe adapters, and your right they are a bit of a lose fit, thats ok cause your replacing an offset muffler with a straight one so we use that to our advantage, the fit up will be a little angled. i was going to use muffler cement but forgot to use it, its optional not mandatory. i did do this tho, i cranked the muffler clamps almost as far as they would go. Put never-seize on the threads and use a long handled ratchet to crank em down. you might have to put washers under the nuts so they don't chew into the clamp bridge. The muffler ends are soft enough that the clamps will close them on the pipe. for a support i ran a bar across under both mufflers. i used a approx 4 ft piece of 1/2'' re-bar and bent a drop 2-3'' into it at each end, i then unbolted one of the old hangers off the frame and slid the bar into the rubber piece and bolted it back in place. there was a bit of trial and error before getting it right and having just enough lift.
+SnakePliscan2 Quick question. My 18134's arrived yesterday. Did the pack slide over the existing exhaust pipe, or did you need to get adapters to make them fit correctly? Also, did you ever fab a something to stabilize the pipes do to not being able to use a hanger? Any feedback would be cool. Can't wait to see what these sound like!! I plan to post a vid this weekend one the job is done.
Well in a way yes. the motor pulls more vacum, has more bottom end so the trany stays in overdrive better and at lower rpm. before the car would drop OD when i gave it gas right around that 60kmh mark, now it hangs on to OD and i don't hunt in and out near as much. Beware they are throaty, fine if you like that, but i changed the tips too and angled them away from each other, also my tip exits are past the bumper not so much under the car and ahead of the bumper were they cause resonance. Adding longer more angled tips pointing away from each other made a huge difference, Still barks when you stand on it which is fun in traffic.
