They fail to mention that after that second interception of a tipped pass, Stabler seriously had his bell rung during the ensuing run back. On the next offensive series, Flores was set to roll with Plunkett, considering Stabler was questionable at best, if not suffering a concussion at worst. Stabler vetoed that idea, and was said to be playing on auto pilot the rest of the game...

I was a senior in high school working at the superdome's parking facility at the time. So we allowed to go in the dome and watch the game. Dick Nolan had given Saints fans hope. This was a horrible loss. However, we went 1-15 the next year and lost a road game to the 49ers after being ahead 35-0 and lost 38-35.

Okay...Favre threw an INT...he has 287 other ones aside form that one. You can't sum a career up with one INT. Look at the records he broke. So he only won 1 Super Bowl...had it not been for Terrell Davis' 157 yds and 3 TD's...favre would have 2 rings. Elway was 12/22 for 123, 0 TD's and an INT. Favre was 25/42 for 256, 1 TD and 0 INT. Over his career, Favre's touchdown to INT ratio was around 1.7 to 1...second only to montana who had 1.9 to 1. Elway has one of the worst at 1 to 1. NOW WHAT!

The team was on the brink of the playoffs and they needed the win just to stay alive(thus needed a miracle by the arizona cardinals the following week over the vikings to gain entry to the playoffs), close proximity to christmas, favres consecutive game streak, the fact that the game was a MNF game... I think Favre had more physical raw talent than any of those 6-9 quarterbacks I'd think about putting ahead of Favre. Montana did not have Favre's arm. And Favre could scramble when he was younger. What makes Favre not quite as good as say, the top 5, was that he made A LOT of errors of judgment. Too much adrenaline at times, but, of course without the adrenaline you don't have Brett Favre greatness. It's a catch 22.

Montana is number one, but because of the super bowls. The thing that is amazing about Favre though is the 275 consecutive game streak. To take that many hits, and then play week in and week out is amazing. Favre is also just simply fun to watch. Even with the talented QBs in the league today, the game will certainly miss #4

I know based on stats that Stanford Routt might be number 1 corner. As a season ticket holder I see him live.QB's have no respect for him at all, and he commits many penalties, and is quick to blame his safeties when he gets burned. It killed me last year when they gave him a 1st and 3rd round tender, and I thought they were crazy when they signed him to the contract they gave him. Shoulda waited, and gave Nmandi the money.Teams fear him, and respect him. Stanford Routt should go he's horible.

@sanjit530 Routt allowed more catches than Nnamdi had balls thrown his way... but Routt had 99 balls thrown his way! Of course some of them are going to get through! 1/3rd of them to be exact. Same thing for Asomugha. 1/3rd of balls thrown his way were caught by the receiver. Roughly 30% The thing that makes Routt better is that he is maintaining that 30% completition percentage, but the ball is being thrown at him 99 times... not 18.

@scott71785 Teams chose to go after Routt when Nnamdi was here because Nnamdi was better at shutting his guy DOWN... Routt on the otherhand is really good at shutting his guy down, and he also gets some INT's. So yeah... I really think as an overall CB, Routt might be a bit better than Aso. Think about it. He allows the same amount of passes to be completed on his side of the field, and he gets about 3 or 4 times as many INT's lol.

@sanjit530 Have you looked at Stanford Routt's burn % last year? It was the SAME as Asomugha's, except that Routt had 99 balls thrown his way and Aso only had like 19. It is EXTREMELY impressive for Routt to keep that type of percentage up when getting thrown at that many times. So yes, I really do think that Routt is better than Aso. The stats do not lie. Atleast not the burn percentage stat.

Only Mr. Davis dieing was going to make that happen, and I was not going to root for that. I deal in reality. The reality was that Routt was the number one corner on the 2011 Raiders. The last Raider team assembled by Al Davis. Shit didn't work out.

Stan Routt is a damn good corner if you ask me. It took him about 4 years to get it down, but he holds down his side. He rarely gets help and is always going against top receivers. He'll get burned every now and again, but I can't remember the last time he got straight up picked on by a QB.
