Subwoofer fiberglass box Chevy Cruze 2014 install
Video of a custom fiberglass box i installed in my 2014 Chevy Cruze. This subwoofer and speaker upgrade made the sound system 10X better. The Kicker ...
hi friend ...can you please tell me how much quantity of bondo 488 mat and
resin needed for you to make your enclosure...it will be very helpful for
me to make my order...thank you.
+Arun Thomas - i used 3 quarts of resin, and i don't remember on the matting.. I believe it was 1 package of cloth (heavy duty) and 4-5 packages of fiberglass cloth
I was also looking at the kicker. i have a 2015 cruze with my link. I do
not consider myself very techy or have i ever worked on fiber glass. would
you recommend I have the box built professionally or do you think I would
be able to manage? i have changed speakers out and done other simple tasks,
but i have no idea how you ran all those wires, or where how you knew how
to make the amp harness. Heck or to even tap into the power...
+Kellen Cottrell - the wires all run along the driver side along with all the other wires. The power was following the kicker instructions (essentially straight to the battery)
+Kellen Cottrell - I taught myself everything, but i've done a few car systems over the years (10 or so) Everything you need to know is online or youtube, but the first few are definitely interesting! I know you can buy pre-made cruze boxes very similar to the one i built.. That go for around $250? I built mine for maybe $100 (but 20+ hours of time)
Did you have to do any cutting for door speakers hook them up are no & that
AA-GM44 was a plug in play bc it say on website works on 2011 & 2012 cruze
+sxecrew ok cool I have a 2013 cruze Lt fun car but I agree with you stock sounds ok but I wanna make it better & update speakers with out cutting wires & that AA-GM44 said it only work on cruze of 2011 & 2012 on the website
+roy votava I was actually hoping you were going to come back with a better bargain brand lol. I just bought 1 of these for a computer 2.1 system I'm building.
I know dude I'm just trolling. I'm thinking about doing a build with either 4 or 6 of the Pyle blue wave 18's just to show folks you can get loud with cheap subs.
i would measure it. my pyle subwoofer i could successfully get about 108 watts to it before it distorted. the amplifier may put out 400 at 1 ohm, but i doubt you have it that high (i measured using a 13.8 volt power supply with a meter to see how much power it was pulling)
DD SW2508 Super-8 subwoofer - Up close and personal
In this series of videos i show off some amazing Digital Designs kit up close, with some free air excursion woofer porn! This is DDs success story of recent times ...
+jimpap13 Yah I have only worked in the industry for 29 years. What could i have possibly learned in that amount of time. Also the owner of a very successful car audio business. You do what? I mean besides talk dooky.
Full install video with every step installing JL audio 12wx power wedge and amplifier into kia forte 5. Using line out converter (factory head unit? Here is a higher ...
so you spent 2 days on this right?
your time is valuable right?
you don't like wasting time?
you have pride right?
you install looks like shit. Straight up.
cut the wires to size. stuffing wires under a panel is not hiding wires.
It's hiding a mess.
this install really sucks.
you should have done more prep
more time into the car.
you should have done it right.
seriously man. if your going to install something take pride in it.
show it off.
this is embarrassing
The purpose of the video was install points, where i went through firewall, where i tapped into speakers etc. Not me cleaning up my install which I said I would be doing off camera but thanks for the comment.
Homemade Subwoofer For Solar Powered Sound System
This is my solar powered subwoofer. I'm using the Pyle Power 6 inch subwoofer. Like us on ...
I have never tested it with 300 watts. My amp is 50 watts RMS and it is really testing the sub's suspension. I wouldn't give it any more than 50 watts.
kwool :) Oh yeah, do you have any tips on taking off the carpet off of a sub box? I want to paint the box black instead of having the ugly gray carpet on it lol.
+Austin Hou Thanks, I really haven't had any problems with it. You are right. Sealed boxes do not go as deep as vented/ported boxes. Its still pretty good for a sealed box.
