+Sate Anne No, it's about a man struggling with his obsession with his friends wife, who won't leave her husband/his friend for him. This song is famously about Pattie Boyd who was married to his friend George Harrison of the Beatles. George was very neglectful and unfaithful to Pattie and Eric being a friend of the couple tried to console her, but ended up falling for her. He grew obsessed with her to the point he made his feelings clear to both Pattie and George and repeatedly tried to get her to leave George for him. Pattie rebuffed his advances for a long time, including one famous time Eric showed up at the Harrison's home and threatened to inject himself with Heroin if she didn't leave with him. Pattie refused Eric until after her marriage to George finally collapsed with his affair with Ringo Starr's wife Maureen, which Pattie called "the final straw" . Eric and Pattie married, but sadly Eric wasn't any better then George and their marriage ended when Patti found out that Eric was having a child with Italian model Lory Del Santo . Eric and Lory had a son named Conor, who would tragically die at four and a half years old when he fell out of an open bedroom window on the 53rd floor of a Manhattan apartment building. Conor's death was the inspiration for Eric's song, "Tears in Heaven".
