great question! With my current legs? No. In my pro days? Maybe. I wasn't
quite strong enuf for long enuf so it seems I should've waited, but waiting
would require luck for someone else to lead it out. I like to make my own
luck. If no one led it out, we would have been swarmed by riders I couldn't
come around anymore. I slyly went just fast enuf to get everyone else to
wait too long then I went 100% for the corner. I'm about bottom fourth
ability in this group and still only 2 guys came around.
At least you rode this course when it was dry. I raced this year at
Concord with wet conditions. Those 2 man-hole covers through turn 2 were
nasty. My comments about Statesville don't apply as much in this race as
it is very tight and yes, "faith" is in full effect. Check my 2013

+Michael Van Sickles Thanks for keeping an eye out! It actually isn't a holotape, its a generic piece of "trash" that is part of the floor textures of some areas, I always keep double taking on those too!
+DragonGaming I'll double check that when I record some more (I've got about 10 episodes farther in since this one was recorded). Did you have a more specific time during the episode so I'm not re-searching the entire area?
+Ivo Novais It just doesn't seem like as useful a way to spend a level as a lot of the other perks right now, I may pick it up later on, but I have a core set of perks that I want to grab first.
Did you go back to the vault near sanctuary because wasnt there a terminal
or safe or something that you couldnt get when you were freed from the cryo
tube?
+olive oil the seats although small, were beautifully made, the frames were machined out of titanium and made from the same leather as what was found in a Rolls Royce car. The food was also amazing onboard.
+Justin Hopkins Your previous argument has nothing to do with the situation itself. If you neglect the price, then it'll become a different topic. A flying machine that takes 1 hours to go to New York from London would be appealing if you choose to omit information about comfortability, which doesn't apply to the Concorde. I agree that spending less time in Economy is better, not the entire plane.
+olive oil I'm not neglecting the price. I already said that I understand economics of it. I'm saying that it would be nice if we could focus on speed, instead of distance. Then, you said no one wants something new and I made the point that you're wrong if it gets them from point A to B faster. I said it's unfortunate that the economy doesn't allow for such travel right now. This is addressing the ticket price. Why are you making my comment so complicated? Surely, you agree that spending less time in a plane is better. That's pretty much it.
+Justin Hopkins Again, you are neglecting the fact that Concorde tickets costs the same as a first class flight. Now ask the people again while giving them the money so they can afford it, would they rather spend 12 hours in luxury, or 1 hour in economy hell? The former would most likely be chosen.
+olive oil Ok, you're complicating what I'm saying. If you asked a panel of 100 people if they would rather get to Tokyo in 1 hour with a new advanced airliner, or a current model which will take 12 hours, they would resoundingly say the new plane. I don't know anyone that doesn't want speed. Do you know how horrible it is being on a 16 hour flight? People don't want to sit in planes that long. Since you say people want practicality, are you saying that in 100 years people will still be flying at 550 mph? I don't think so. The technology exists, it's just too expensive right now. The ferries in the Isle of Wight are like the propeller planes of the aviation world. There will always be a niche for them, however, international travel is far different. It will eventually come, so I guess because the 737 is "practical" your family will meet you 15 hours after they arrive due to taking the faster options.
+Justin Hopkins Except that people don't want speed, they want practicality. Speed does not define technology. Take the Isle of Wight in England as an example. The technology within the boats that take passengers between the mainland and the island is similar to the boats used in the 1950s. However, they are far more comfortable than the "futuristic" alternative. The Hovercraft. The Hovercraft is noisy, expensive for both the customers and the operators and it is very uncomfortable. The likelihood of getting seasick is far greater on the Hovercraft especially when it bounces up and down on the water repeatedly. No one wants something that is "new" and "futuristic", they want something that works.
+olive oil Yes, I'm well aware it's about economics. However, it's unfortunate that in 2016, it takes the same time to get anywhere as it did in 1960. In any other area of technology that would be unacceptable.
Ticket prices on the Concorde was over £4000 standard from London to New York. You are paying First Class prices for economy seating. Quality over Quantity (speed).Source: //www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-196994/Concorde-tickets-snapped-up.html
