gas vapor fuel injector
not sure how many PSI would be necessary to allow enough vapor to enter the cylinder... thing about gas vapor is, well pretty much anything... it won't ...
a car will run on gasoline vapors......they done it in the 60's and was
getting 400mpg's.........auto manufactures have the capability to build
engines that will get 2-500 mpg easily.....but big oil isn't gonna let that
happen...... that's all it boils down to..... money.........i have been a
mechanic for over 20yrs and i have a 91 civic i haul my tools around in and
do mobile service.......i can get 106mpg out of my car if i am really
trying to conserve..(highway miles)...but has to be pure gasoline without
ethanol in it....40-50 in town on regular fuel with nearly 1000lbs tools in
my car.....best way to save fuel is.......drive like there is an egg under
the throttle pedal.....best savings......keep at it......somebody will get
it right one day for mass production.....if big oil dont stop them....they
are bad for that.....people disappearing and weird circumstances.....big
oil........R.I.P Stan Meyer........
+Gary Marshall can you tel us more?..and you are 100% correct.. they could go right to 300 mpg easy and upward if optimised for vapor and go back to distilation towers at the refineries
+EatPezzzz I was quoting +bhearts77 You jumped into the middle of a conversation. So are you saying, octane rating or ignition timing has nothing to do with engine knock ?
+hhoinfo Nope. Octane rating of fuel has nothing to do with more fuel at WOT, neither does ignition timing, although ignition timing does change at WOT, it's not because of the added fuel, or visa versa. They work hand in hand. The engine needs the same AFR at WOT as it does at idle. Now, if you want to make MAP values as part of the equation (simulating acceleration) then you need a richer AFR to increase the power of the engine, in order to accelerate the mass of the vehicle. Adding more fuel at WOT would help prevent knock, but if you're getting a spark knock at WOT, and you want to fix it by adding fuel, you're just treating the symptom. You've got a bigger problem that you need to address. Source? I grew up rebuilding Porsche engines and SBCs and spent the last 15 years building LS engines, along with anything else that needs more power.... along with running a dyno for the last 11 years.
+BigBoss9865327410 "Source ?" I took a coarse to become an Automotive Technician. 8 hours a day, 5 days a week for 42 weeks. Then a little over 20 Years Experience. Anything else you want to know ?
+bhearts77 "why do you think engines need more fuel when wide open throttle, its to prevent knock." Wrong.Try ignition timing. And/or octane rating of the fuel.
if you could in fact warm up your fuel rail on a returnless fuel system, so that on cold startups, and cold days, the intake air charge wasnt cooling your fuel, you could in fact get better economy. why do you think engines need more fuel when wide open throttle, its to prevent knock. and an engine with a good quench and swirl capabilities provides an even better burn. that doesnt work for you, propane injection can prevent spark plugs from fouling, explain how propane is any different than gasoline vapor. besides its octane rating. take your head off the block and notice the non carboned areas in the combustion chamber, thats because its had raw fuel sitting on it.
