Sorry but I find this quite amusing to watch and not trying to take any
offence but why do I feel like this is staged some how? It looks like they
rehearsed/re-enacted this before they started filming or something. It
seems too good to be true, curing them all from their dilemma's in just a
matter of minutes.
+faithoffaith This seems bizarre. But I think the participants are already familiar with the techniques of Gestal therapy, so it doesn´t seem so absurd to them.

La Gesalt permet de pousser la personne dans ses retranchements et tombants les masques derrière lesquels elle se cache... Du coup elle va vers l'authenticité de son être !
Things about that any interpretation and interference from the side of
therapist are bad in therapy...
I see a lot of examples when he's making people think some stuff which
seemed to HIM. One of the examples - 13:27 "What kind of person are you
playing? etc." Isn't it the interpretation? Isn't he persuading this woman
to believe in opinion that it's not the some part of her true self, but
something from outside? When he's putting question in this manner he's
might be making this probable exclusion... How can he really know, which is
her true self and which is not?
I just don't get, how can rule "do not make interpretations" be
accomplished... Yes - this idea sounds great, so idealistic, but I really
can't see, how this can be accomplished, don't see this in reality...
Sorry for bad english, just saying out loud my doubts...
Like I said above, I agree with you but this type of interpretation tends to be more reliable. Essentially as a gestalt therapist we use the self as body and observation as data. We then acknowledge that we are making meaning from that and share it with the client. If it lands, awesome. If not, we explore where the disjunct is.
+Hokyo Joshua RouthierIsn't it the mind reading and interpretation then?..How he can know, what she is trying not to say?.. It's based on his experience, I suppose, but then it's interpreting... Overwise, how he can know, what she is trying not to say?..
It is and generally in contemporary gestalt, you would own and explain it as such. I don't think though that he is manipulating her but rather pointing directly at what she is trying not to say based on himself as an instrument.
Gestalt Psychology 1 of 3: Michael Wertheimer & David Peterzell (2010)
Interview with Michael Wertheimer, U. Colorado Psychology (and son of Max Wertheimer) by David Peterzell. In Part 1 --What is Gestalt Psychology? Wholes in ...
Wow this is my first insight (no pun intended) into Gestalt Psych and I'm
TOTALLY gripped!!! - I came across you randomly while researching consumer
engagement with videos of the human form, as more effective for marketing
than still images. Thanks for posting :)
How old is Professor Wertheimer? Thank G-d that he is very much alive and
vibrant, yet I am not sure how this can be, since his father, if he were
alive, would be 133 years old
This is great. I'm in my first semester of Psychology and right now we're
studying this!
Gestalt Principles of Perception
From //www.thepsychfiles.com In this shortened version of a video episode from the popular Psych Files podcast (//www.thepsychfiles.com) I show how ...
i am against nazism ,fascism and all sorts of totalitaria ideologies ,but
how dare you say the swastika is a sick symbol!!?? and you call yourself a
psychologist!!? did you even take the time to research were does this
symbol actually come from , and the importance of it to many religious
traditions and cultures as well known as hinduism??
The word "swastika" comes from the Sanskrit svastika - "su" meaning "good,"
"asti" meaning "to be," and "ka" as a suffix. Until the Nazis used this
symbol, the swastika was used by many cultures throughout the past 3,000
years to represent life, sun, power, strength, and good luck.
@chron1cdec4y the swastika didn't "used to mean" as you say it. Its still
considered a symbol of peace throughout much the the eastern hemisphere and
has been a symbol of peace, strength, among other positive traits, by
different cultures for the past 3000 years.
A happy face? I havn't heard about this, but it must just be counicdence.
(s/p) Just like the other rock seeing a face in it. It seems to me to be
the same as seeing images in clouds. Would scientists think that water
vapor is telling us something then?
Love how my psychology professor requires watching this to answer questions
in our homework workbook and literally none of the questions/answers
correlating to this video have anything to do with this.
OH MY GOD, PEOPLE ARE SO IGNORANT ABOUT THE REAL MEANING OF A SWASTIKA. ITS
REAL MEANING IS ONE OF PEACE, BUT THANKS TO THE NAZIS, PEOPLE SEE IT AS ONE
OF THE ULTIMATE SIGNS OF EVIL
Swastikabuilding... offensive...
The offense happens in the brain of the beholder, if you are offended by
the shape of a building the problem really is your Brain, no offense...
