Korean Air Airbus A380-800 taxi and takeoff at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta Int'l Airport (KATL)
The largest aircraft I have ever filmed! This Korean Air Airbus A380-861 happened to be at the gate as I was catching a connecting flight in Atlanta on a recent ...
And Delta is proud to not only having started in Atlanta, but never forgetting that the epic trashing of the Confederacy in 1864 started in Atlanta simply for taking out the "workshop" of the CSA. Later the general boasted he shaved months off the conflict for that action. Delta seems to prove he may have absolutely been correct.
+Mihir Panchal Thanks Mihir. Hadn't heard about Qatar. Good for Atlanta! What a lot of people don't realize about Atlanta is that the city itself is relatively small (<500 thousand),but the metro area is about 6 million. They also don't know that the airport is the connecting hub for several airlines and most of the international traffic is served by 777's and A330's, so you don't see a lot of A380's or 747's there as a result. Good stuff!
Hahaha small town? Think again it's one of the top 10 metro areas in the US and has the busiest and largest airport in the whole damn world...Qatar is bringing another a 380 next summer
+Daniel Lengos Another likely, important reason Korean Air flies A380's to Atlanta in particular is that both Korean Air and Delta are part of Skyteam, and Atlanta is of course "Delta City".
+cameraman655 LOL. Atlanta? Small? No it's not charter. Daily A380 service to Atlanta. And it's about time...And about the '96 Olympics... Atlanta was just unlucky. That idiot who decided to ruin the whole thing with a bomb is the only thing people think about when they think of the Atlanta Olympics.
There is a large Asian population in the Atlanta Metro service area. Hyundai (Montgomery, AL) and Kia (West Point, GA) and their suppliers all have facilities close to ATL. The entire upper deck of the KE380 is business class.
+cameraman655 Actually, Atlanta is a fairly large city. Not quite as large as NYC or Chicago and whatnot, but still a decent size. And +MrReasonablethinker is correct about it having the busiest airport in the world. I was absolutely amazed by the amount of traffic going in and out of there. Korean Air operates a daily flight from Atlanta to Incheon. Sometimes they use the A380, as seen here. And sometimes they use a Boeing 777.
+MrReasonablethinkerNever understood that either, nor how they won (and fucked up) the 96 Olympics, What is the mystique about this backwater or other Southern hick burgs like Houston or Dallas?
