I was having trouble removing fan even though I had removed it a few times
before. Wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong before I went
Hulk on it.. I think it is only like 17ft Lbs Torque tight, but still.
I use my Plumbers Pipe Wrench and Big Screw Driver... No Problem.
+furyIIIplate if you are having a hard time you may need to build/buy/rent the actual tool.. have you put any thread treatments on the threads? (Antisieze) if not, where it has been on and off, there is more likely to be rust.. make sure you are turning it the right way as well.
Hey I recently hit a deer with my 2001 Trailblazer 4x4 Blazer and was
wondering if you could email steps to how to fix it bc I can send you
photos and what is all completly wrong with it?

+brandon nelson that is tricky to do.. I would recommend finding a local mechanic/autobody tech that can look at it in person.. too much can be missed in pictures.
I removed the small bolts first... Do not do this, it turns into a real
pain in the ass! Anyone got any ideas on how to remove it after those damn
bolts get removed?
I actually held the water pump in place with one hand while I whacked at the wrench with the other until I finally got it. Tricky bitch. Thanks for the help and the video!
at that point you need something like a belt wrench to hold it in place. get the fan off, then re-attach the pully.. here is a link to the type of wrench ://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000DIN9P/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B0000DIN9P&linkCode=as2&tag=dillsadve-20&linkId=M6M3N3HMZEH26OTB
hello i have a 98 blazer and i recently had my alternator radiator and
water pump replaced Friday but when everything was hooked up it seems i
have a leak coming from behind the water pump and u suggest anything
I would have to say. Take it back and have those that swapped the water pump check their work or just get your money back.. but, make sure it is coming from the water pump.. the intake gasket commonly leaks in the same general area.
sorry it took so long to reply.. lower shroud should not be too bad.. remove upper, remove fan (gives more room to work) then remove the lower.. should have 2 10mm bolts holding it to the car.. you will have to just lift the rad enough to slide it out.
