One more point you overlook is, the alluding to how Eagles wrote the manual to how to make albums to todays bands is irrelevant and a moot point. The digital age and demise of record companies has completely changed the music industry to the point of, those how to manuals no longer exist. Music is virtual music reproduced by a microchip in a computer. It isn't real. Back then, you had to know how to play a guitar, piano and drums. Even vocals today are enhanced and choreographed by a computer. As Joe Walsh has said, there's nobody testifying anymore. No mojo which is what makes listening to music the most wonderful experience in the world. No, the manuals have been thrown outin favor of faking your way threw it. RobinThicke is a perfect example of a fake.

Don Henley was a leader in being independent, selling of tickets, merchandising is all done by the artist. Billboard tracks by charting sales and who holds the records for records. There's no money in it anymore and you really can't sell an album when singles are downloadable for $.99 I believe by the end of the 20th century, the accuracy of units sold changed significantly. The Eagles were also not touring or recording for 15 years when in 1994, they got back together. Again, don't just say, google it, provide the source of the data.

Eagles sold more records than anyone in the 20th century 18 million records in 18 months straight set another record. I'm not a huge eagles fan but they're the cream when it comes to album sells

I hate when people like you are always trying one against the other when they stand on their own merits. The Beatles came along at a time when America needed a different sound and look. The Eagles are a unique and successful band because they are serious about the work and feel they owe their fans the best. The Beatles started out as songwriters and never planned to be who they became. Commercially successful on every level. Beatles this and Beatles that. And, you can go look this up yourself but, The Eagles Greatest Hits is the highest selling album of all time outselling the best work of the Beatles 15 times over. Let that penetrate your thick skull. This isn't. kids having a kissing contest Jacko. It's about art and creating work that endures for ages. Both The Beatles and The Eagles have reached that goal beyond their own expectations. Stop trying to pit one against the other.
