Mississippi Magnolia Guard Officer Leadership Development (GOLD) Program
The Mississippi Magnolia GOLD program is an ROTC-like program administered and executed by the Mississippi Army National Guard, providing an opportunity ...
When the guy was runnin down the hall and you jumped out on him and knocked
him out, and then all those other moments of resaling, etc...happened to me
to many times...
This is the Virginia Military Institute's Army ROTC Marshall New Market Battalion MS-II's (VMI Class of 2011) on Spring FTX in 2009 at the MOUT (Military ...
@ninjatit I just graduated with a degree in History. We have LOADS of
liberal arts classes, although not the kinds you are probably used to
seeing at a normal college. The only art class we have is art history,
there isn't any hands-on (but there used to be). It's about half and half
but we've been known as an engineering school for a long while. I can
honestly say you really can't go wrong with picking either type of major at
VMI, both areas of academia have AMAZING faculty and programs.
You guys need more training. Just a few quick observations of the
fundamentals. Failure to duck below windows and failure to jump over
basement windows and loopholes. You guys perform a "I'm high and your low"
and the team quickly comes running out at the same time. Did not leave any
time for you guys to engage or provide accurate cover if there was a threat
in order to allow them to pass. The Soldier running down the alley alone
and then turns the corner without pieing it first.
@G60ed77 It's amusing to me that you clearly have no concept of Army ROTC
operations... We are not about to deploy. As hard as it may be, keep in
mind that we are: 1) Doing full-time college classes 2) Are severely
underfunded (that's an understatement) 3) Only get so many days to actually
do any training 4) Don't think we are the coolest thing since sliced bread.
We know it's not pre-deployment, active duty type training, all you are
doing is being Mr. Obvious. Thanks.
@ninjatit I'm glad you found a school that suites your desires, that's
really what it's all about. I guess now would be a bad time to inform you
we do in fact have political science here. Oh well. Of course VMI calls it
"international studies," but it's poly sci alright. VMI does a lot of
things differently compared to most schools, it's unfortunate but you
really have to pry deep into the Institute to fully understand it. Did you
attend an open house?
@ninjatit Well I meant what I said about being glad you found a place that
best suits you, being somewhere you don't like or isn't living up to what
you wanted is frustrating. I think each school has its own unique
traditions that really set it apart in unique ways but ultimately it all
boils down to the same type of experience. People argue all day about the
details of how hard or easy it was but ultimately most options you choose
will be challenging.
@xXw4l4b2Xx saying something the right way isn't a childish argument. the
difference between saying and writing something the right way (CORP) and
saying and writing it the wrong way (CORE???) is the difference between
being smart, and being a dumbass. and "higher ups" that say CORE should
obviously not be higher ups. they don't even know how to wirte or say the
name of the orginization they are in charge of?
@ninjatit yeah, thats what forbes rated VMI. Another piec of info i found
out is VMI has something like 98% of their faculty holds Phds while the
academys is much lower because they can only higher within the Military.
West Point only like 50%.
@mcdunlo corps core, higher ups say that anyway. do before you complain
that's what they say so never thought of correcting them. lol! anyway go
diss someone else i don't have time for childish arguements. :]
