3 mounts are tested for NVH and we get some driver's perception of how well planted the motor feels. The mounts are as follows: CFM Lower Engine Torque ...
MrNicholg - I drove the CPE Stg2 for nearly 6 weeks after this video, and
NVH did not change by any perceptible measure. I did however take it to
the 1/8th mile locally, and the wheel hop was ludicrous. Gear shifts were
spongy, and the rebound from flat foot shifting was unacceptable. I sold
it and returned to the DM mount which best suits my driving style. The car
in the video is BNR S3 / E85 tuned and produced a best ET of
[email protected] at full street weight on a zero prep test and tune night
at Steele, AL on stock sized Summer tires.
+Whatzitmatter Well, I can only relay my own recent experience with it on the street. The nvh was unacceptable for long term use for the first 100 miles, but got considerably quieter and less vibey over the next 100 miles. Eventually it returned to stock or lower noise and vibes, and with less harsh of a pitch. Clutch feel hasn't changed from the initial more solid feel, but I could understand complaints about the stiffness level if you're beating on it with drag racing shenanigans. For me, it's worked-out better than expected, and significantly improved clutch uptake accuracy and made stoplight driving and heel-toe canyon driving much smoother and ultimately a lot more fun.
The CFM wasn't even tested correctly pegs were all off so yes the results
probably weren't like they should have been. Add all the pegs and it comes
alive for track use. The 4 pegs in the correct position will hold the
engine just fine for people at 320whp and below. 75 CFM Mounts sold so far
with 0 failures. It's an adjustable mount also for convenience unlike the
other two which are for track only in all reality. I love all 3 mounts but
they all offer something different. Just wish the CFM had all 9 pegs when
tested or at least had them in the default position instead of moved around
in the incorrect positions.
This is really helping me out! I'm not exactly old enough to go to college,
or get a job so that I can pay for online stuff by faking my age and stuff.
My parents won't pay, so going to Youtube and finding this channel is
great! Now I can take notes and informal classes at my level for free.
Thank you, to the creators of this channel!!
