PC isn't cheaper, but it is better in most cases. I play PC more, but see the perks of consoles also.

I see what your getting at, i bought a ps4 at the star of this year and loved it. I am now building a pc for $855. PC is cheaper in the long run but early on it is way more expensive when you have to buy all your parts. But its way easier to buy a new GPU when the new generation of games hits than it is to buy a whole new console. 

+Naozumi AKN I should also add, before someone mistakes my comment as a PC elitist comment, that I own consoles from the 3rd to 7th gen. But rightnow it's hard for me to recommend a console over a PC (if you are going to own only one) because of the cheap good PC hardware out now and the fact that most console games for the current generation are multiplatform titles, so you are not going to miss many games by buying a PC. I might get one or two of the current gen consoles next year because they finally seem to get some interesting exclusives but you could be fine without them.

+Naozumi AKN yes, my statement assumes this, since the rest can be used for other stuff like browsing, watching YT, work related stuff and all the things you do on a PC. The GPU is pretty much the only thing that makes a decent "whatever" PC to a gaming capable PC. Of course the rest of the parts should not bottleneck the GPU. But (for example) a good PSU, a Z97 board, an i5, couple of drives and like 8-16GB RAM isn't expensive.__but of course, building a machine EXCLUSIVELY for gaming is going to cost a bit more but only if you don't use it for anything else, otherwise the price difference is well worth the buck. better then spending money on 2 seperate devices and in the end consting you more because you had to get a $600 notebook as well to make your homework.

Assuming you already own the motherboard, PSU, Ram, CPU and case to actually use the gpu. It's not gonna cost you less than 400 bucks to start pc gaming on anything decent.

That is still a rather weak argument. Our months and days are based of religions and yet AD and BC is the one that's the problem. Also, CE and BCE are known as Common Era and Before Common Era, What the fuck makes it common? Oh yeah, the date on which it is set is.... On the birth of Jesus. Sweet, so instead of just waving it off like months and days, we are now stating that the only thing in all of history to define as common among everyone is around Jesus's birth.

At this point, you're better off waiting – the consumer version of Rift is due out 2016 Q1, while the Valve/HTC Vive competitors is supposedly out end of this year. The DK2 is looking quite ancient now!

+Siara Hero Sorry, don't check comments that often. I mean Oculus Rift doesn't work with iPad, it only works with PC. But you can play Minecraft on PC, and it will work with Oculus Rift. And it's awesome ;)
