There was no mis-translation. Another point is this teaching isn't from this church alone. There are a few that also teach this.It's always good to keep an open mind and test the teachings as you do, especially on relatively new teachings.

Consequently, everyone is free to make his own judgement about the Bible, and in my judgement Revelation, Jude, Hebrews, Matthew's second chapter, Chronicles and Esther are not God's word, but I have no reason to doubt that in the main the Bible (KJV) is God's word.Already in the original Christian assemblies there were not so few cases of apostasy, and Paul in Acts 20:29 predicts that after him "wolves" will infiltrate assemblies. I have also other reasons to believe that after the apostolic era moral decay and evil takeover of leading positions in assemblies have totally corrupted Christendom. Christians are to seek God's kingdom, and the only assembly I can think of being truly Christian today, is the assembly of those who have found God's kingdom. But there is no record of his history. So when you read Rev, you are reading the anonymous story of someones hallucination.
