Thanks to u I have joined reddit I am a new knitter about 6 months in and I
don't have the courage to start a harder project then a scarf so I have
joined reddit to help me find a mentor to help me. I love knitting and has
always been crafty like yourself. I just need more courage to make harder
things If you have any advise please help
Thanks for commenting back I found a easy level knitted beanie that you just seam up no knitting in the round I enjoy your videos and I am now on episode 2 thank you for the encouragement I will try that it definitely hurts when you have to unravel but I guess it is a needed to step to grow in my knitting thanks for everything and keep the episodes coming I'll be there to watch!!! And any advise shout me out in a video and I'll know that who your talking to lol your videos are showing me everyone was a beginner at some point thanks for the positivity I'll keep trying. I must say I now have a yarn addiction since I have started knitting lol
+amanda waugh Reddit's knitting community is seriously a fantastic resource for knitters at any level! I hope you find it as helpful as I have! As far as courage goes - the bravest thing in knitting that you have to be willing to face is that you will mess up, you will make mistakes, and you have to be willing to push through it! We all have to rip back our work sometimes, and undoing something that took you hours, days, weeks, or however long to make just to do it all over again is the single hardest thing a knitter does. If you can get through it when the time comes, there is nothing you can't do. I would say hats would be a good next step for you, you can find a lot of patterns that incorporate new techniques once you move beyond the basics of knitting in the round and making decreases. After you've knit plenty of hats and scarves, you will have the basic skills in your inventory to approach nearly anything in knitting! Have fun! And thank you for watching!
