These guys were cool and hip, before being cool and hip was even a thing. Although it's quite a pointless thing nowadays. This is true courage, folks. Not giving a fuck about status quo and going against the grain and doing the right thing and setting better standards. These guys almost make it look effortless. I hope to have at least half the courage these guys had, when the change comes.

Bayard Rustin was a Great Man when it came to human Rights. He was A Gay Black Man, and this kept him from being known, but he is one of the Real Hero of the Black Civil Rights Move ment. If Bayard Rustin had not been Gay, his name would be known to Every American. The Gay Rights Movement should establish Bayard Rustin as A great Gay Hero for that is what he really is.

I think they also should have mentioned that Bayard Rustin was both openly gay and a Christian (Quaker). While I believe in interpretations of scripture that are pro-gay and know that people who are gay can be Christian and out and in a same-sex relationship, so many people don't.

Amazing! I've heard of James Baldwin, but I'd never heard of Bayard Rustin. And I know very, VERY little about Baldwin. Shameful! Inexcusable! WTF is up with our edumacation system?

Bayard Rustin was a super high Intelligent Gay Man who was open and un-ashamed of being Gay. His work to get Black Americans Equal Rights Made Him A Great Man.
