If I find a vulnerability in a system I would like to tell the
administration about it but as I to have gotten suspended for "hacking"
even though I was doing nothing malicious and they had no proof of me even
doing anything, I have lost my trust in them to do the correct thing and
secure the hole and let the situation go. I have no malicious intent with
anything I do along with a good majority of hackers out there but
unfortiniatly we are judged by less qualified people who are miss informed.

If I was to find a vulnerability then. I would find out what is the policy
of the company who made the application. Then, If the vulnerability is of
no use to me. I would probably notify the company. If the company of course
is anti internet privacy and stuff. Then, Off to share the vulnerability
with the Hackers of anonymous. Id be.

Not to worry. I don't know how to pronounce it myself, as I have only seen
it written. My screen name is a chapter title from Umberto Eco's novel,
"Foucault's Pendulum." I highly recommend it, especially for someone whose
job exposes them to as much paranoia and conspiracy as yours does.

Zero Day attacks and all that. If i was a responsible person I would
probably mention it. But at the same time if I risk being kicked out of my
university I might just keep it to myself. Or if I was a bad person,
exploit it or sell the exploit to someone who wants it.

Considering the fact that for standing up and saying something that is
ultimately benficial you would be punished, no, don't say something when
you see something else you'll get expelled from the college you payed
thousands of dollars to go to for trying to help it...

Darren: I'd say be cautious when speaking up. Found a flaw in the Nevada
Voting system, guess who cares? No one. 120 Days is almost up from when I
told them and go to local news. Easily change identities of people and how
they vote or did they?

Yeah, agreed. If I were ruffing it a few cotton shirts washed in the sink and rang dry would do the trick. CES has a bit of a dress code.

Cool, but that can be topped: saw +Andrew Tridgell travel with only a small backpack for 15 days or more, with easy-dry stuff that he washed and dried overnight.Unworkable for me when I need to pack shirts and suits (packing suits in laundry bags does marvels, though!) ;-)
