Drill Hog drill bit review, drilling bed frame angle iron,
1_2_2016, Drill Hog, drill bit review, drilling bed frame angle iron, Drill Hog replaces broken bits for free, drilled 50x 1/8" holes thru angle iron, used motor oil for ...
I tend to be sloppy when drilling holes, I don't use enough oil, I use the wrong kind of oil, and I tend to put lateral forces on the bits, breaking them. The 1/8" drill hog bit I've been using on nasty bed frame metal, must have drilled 100holes and still works like it is new. I recommend them completely...They drill the hardest metal like soft pine.
+Avalanche2 , I start by drilling a hole with the 1/8 drill hog, then I go to the 1/4 drill hog, and use the HF drills to drill the final size hole... Thanks for your thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!!
I'm surprised you brake drill bits so easily.
I use old drill bits from an engineering that closed, using the pillar
drill hand held drill at a slow speed not applying to much for, especially
for small diameter drills and centre punch before drilling.
+sim6699 , Most of the drill bit breakage is my own fault, I spin them too fast, I do not oil them enough, I lean on them too hard, and I frequently put lateral pressure on them... That is Y for my standard testing, I used a drill press and plenty of oil. The way U use Ur bits, they should last almost forever, the way I use them, I should keep an eye doctor on speed dial... I appreciate your input, it reminds me how to do things right! Thanks also for watching and taking the time to comment Bud!!!
the 29 pcs hf are in 64th of an inch increment which is too small...not
necessary unless you are doing precision work.....id rather buy the 14pc
dewalt, 1/16n - 1/2, from amazon for $15
+EvendimataE , , When it comes to putting most things together, I seem to need just a few bits, 1/8, 1/4. 3/8, and 1/2" I bought 1/8 and 1/4 from Drill Hog, I think they will fit most of my uses... I rarely buy from Amazon, I should start checking with them before I make my eBay purchases... Thanks for the good info, watching, and taking the time to comment!!!!
+ZIGgassedUP , Mostly, I break 1/8" bits because I run them too fast, I don't oil enough, I push too hard, and I apply lateral pressure. I have not broken off a 1/2 inch drill bit yet, I don't think my cordless drills and drill press have enough strength to do that, but, I have had diagonal cutter handles snap off in my hand, so, one never knows what the future will hold... Sounds like U have had to get a broken 1/2" bit out of a recessed hole... I think that would be painful... Thanks for your thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!
+Rusty “rustyglovebox” Glovebox , I hope this comment goes thru, could not post it on the Honda 125cc clone video as a reply to Ur comment... " +Rusty “rustyglovebox” Glovebox, I look forward to see what U build... I have been trolling a Cushman Minute Mizer 3 wheeled scooter to put my engine on... I just need to make the Cushman purchase happen... Thanks for asking, watching, and commenting... I look forward to Ur comments and videos, Look live the Lister!!!! "
+59chevt , I was surprised how well the bits lasted when they were oiled and when they were not spun too fast. I was also surprised how bad the Harbor Freight, Warrior, Cobalt drill bits were... Thanks for the encouragement, watching, and commenting!!!! Happy New Year, may 2016 be great for you and everyone U care about!!!
Drill Hog all the way , HF won't send you a new bit .. I broke a drill hog
and never even sent it back.. just contacted the guy and it was in my mail
box ..
+ShawnMrFixit , I am going to bring the cobalt bits back tomorrow, we will see what happens, Harbor Freight may end up on my list... Thanks for the good idea, watching, and commenting!!!
If they were true COLBALT they would be great bits , But there not . They are a mix of alloy and a cobalt coating ..But from what I hear 90 day money back fro HF .. Give it a try man .. !!
+ShawnMrFixit , Yea, it seems that the Drill Hog guy is a stand up person and his drills are the real deal... I wonder if I can bring back the Harbor Freight Cobalt bits, they are just plain lousy.... Thanks for your thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!!

I was behind you...I was in 209 ROW A. I wish I was closer...being that far
back proved to be difficult on my zoom. I have some decent quality video
from the later part of the show, as I pretty much just took it from the
huge clear video screen. I'll be posting later this week.
Your videos came out WAY better than mine though because (being on the
floor) I didn't have the elevation to get over people's heads :( I had a
hard time getting good zoom with mine too being so far back. Can't wait to
see more videos from you! :)
Great job!! I had trouble getting good video because I'm short & people's
heads were in my way... lol!! I was on the floor row CCC section 11. Thanks
for adding this! :)
