+Jshaw71 Doesn't look anything like movie footage. Since the buildings look fairly well-imagined, detailed and practical, and it has that certain "architect's drawing" look to it, I'm guessing it's probably an architectural artist's view of a future Vienna made for a planning commission (you can even see the Wiener Riesenrad - a landmark old Ferris wheel - in the background in several of the shots) that was re-purposed for this concert.
He wanted way more than he was worth! He'd had TWO Tommy John's surgeries, and had only pitched in 2 games in the entire 2012 season. He chose the Dodgers out of spite.
He was on the Dodgers - which is bad enough. Guys who go from the Giants to the Dodgers get it worse. When it comes to team reunions, he'll get cheered, but as long as he's wearing that blue, he's gonna get boos.
+silvershock82 What did they do that was so unclassy? He was a beloved Giant who went to play for the arch-enemy. I'm sure he expected the reception he got - which actually wasn't that bad.
As a DieHard Dodger fan since I was born( my dad worked for them when I was
born in 1994) The games SF and LA have are always dope to watch. Always
having the cities on edge. As for the fans that do stupid shit at games are
the ones that ruin it for everyone making it seem hostile.
+SickassNikes1 I'm on the Giants end of the rivalry, and I agree. It is the best rivalry in baseball. It goes back to the 19th century, which Red Sox/Yankees can't say. It's also very even over the history of the rivalry, which isn't true for Sox/Yankees OR Cubs/Cardinals.I hate the Dodgers with every fiber of my being - but I also love them, because I want them to be exactly what they are...in Los Angeles with a long history of success. Yankee and Cardinal fans get a rivalry where they dominate and talk down to their most hated opponent. Cubs and Red Sox fans have to embrace the role of angry underdogs against the evil empires that they oppose. But Giants/Dodgers is a match of equals. It's the best rivalry in baseball, and maybe the best in American sports.
As someone who is a die hard Giants fan (raised in Orange and Black) and now works at AT&T ballpark, I totally agree. It's the fans who always take things too far and makes a happy, fun environment into a place where you have to watch your back during these gametimes.
Captain returns, homers on first pitch
7/28/13: Derek Jeter takes the first pitch he sees since returning from the disabled list and goes the opposite way for a solo home run. Check out ...
+Diego Carvajal no offense but that has to be the lamest "thing" or "signature" anyone has ever had what a terrible way to be remembered as the guy who said the number name and number again. CUNT
That was Bob Sheppard's signature when announcing. Sheppard was the longtime announcer for the Yankees and introduce players by saying their number, name, and number again. It was his thing.
Yankee Stadium gives a slight advantage to left handed pull hitters, but
let's not act like it is a band box or something. The park is huge in the
gaps and is 408 to centerfield. It's 353 to straightaway right field like
old Yankee Stadium. People overreact to any home run hit to right field
there. It's not like a routine fly ball ends up in the seats all the time.
You have to hit a ball pretty well to hit it out. Down the line, yeah it's
314 to right and 318 to left, but as a pitcher you shouldn't allow hitters
to turn on the pitch and hit it down the line. Pac Bell park in San
Francisco is only 309 down the right field line, and the right field wall
looks pretty inviting, so where is the huge outrage there? The home run
that A-Rod hit for his 3000th hit was like 6 rows into the right
centerfield seats and on the radio after the game the talk was about how
the Yankees "know how to hit at this ballpark". Whatever that means. The
ball probably went 375 feet but everyone is acting like it was a pop fly.
Everyone just likes to hate on the Yankees that's all. Jeters home run
for his 3000th hit was also about 370 feet. Is that a tape measure blast?
No, but not a cheap home run by any means. Both teams get to utilize the
park for the SAME 9 INNINGS! They don't move the fences back when the
visiting team comes to the plate.
Mo's final game at Yankee Stadium, Jeter's 3000th hit (Which was a home
run), and now this....... All against the Rays....... Darn, this Rays team
is actually pretty good in witnessing history
The idea that right-center at the new stadium is some kind of "free" home
run is laughable. No more so than Cleveland, for example. How do you
think Nelson Cruz hit 40 HR this year? That 364 left-center field distance
in Baltimore, that's how. Or how about the left field line at Boston which
some have estimated is *under* 300 feet? People get your freaking facts
before you open your pie holes.
That happens to be the case with a lot of Sox fans, except the ignorant ones. Lol
Vargas gets two baseballs thrown back to him
6/8/15: After Jason Vargas hits Brian Dozier with a pitch, Salvador Perez and the home-plate umpire both throw baseballs back to the pitcher Check out ...
That's only on pitches in the dirt, throwing errors, and ground balls/foul balls. Those cause scuffs or scrapes on the ball that would give the pitcher the advantage by giving him something to help him better grip the ball.
They don't use the royals announcers because there is no love for the
Kansas City royals in baseball. The only love the royals get is from the
huge amount a fans all across America. From a media standpoint, they show
as little of the royals as possible. It's very obvious, you would think the
2nd best baseball team on July 26th 2015 in all of baseball would get more
coverage but unfortunately they don't. At least it has gotten better since
the start of the season. ESPN and Fox would rather show guys with no class
or guys who's shit doesn't stink they forget about humble teams and
players. Whatever gets ratings I suppose.
I thought that was 7 million contract was a joke look there are three people on the rays who make that kinda money Jepsen who was traded. Now only Cabrera and longoria. The Rays were 1st in the al east for a while until they shat themselves. Also are those the normal royals commentators because they are usually Annoying they are broadcast team that seems to criticize the other team it was them or the Dodgers on fox can't remember.but just saying Cueto payed (I almost said played with heart) a lot. A true player who loves the game is someone who signs with the Rays,
+Brenden Perkins yeah, something like that, but he just doesn't seem to care. I mean, the way he sees it, he makes MORE than enough money to support him and his family so he doesn't need more.
+0yisaicai0 The Royals play with heart, not with a paycheck. They play to win and that's all they play for, did you know Perez's contract is only worth 7 million? He couldn't give two shits what he's payed. I can see though, you're more than likely a salty fan of another team we've done well against this season.
Your right About the mlb network to a certain point, but I would still have to say that for a team doing as well as they are. They don't get the coverage they deserve. However Id also say that neither do the cardinals. I'm just saying that if it were a team like the Yankees, Dodgers, Giants etc in there place you'd see much more coverage of them. Like I said it is getting better as they are proving that last year wasn't a fluke (obviously) but it's taken a while to get attention this season even after last years post season run.
+Joshua Andersen Watch MLB network, they love the Royals, If I wanna watch people talk about baseball, I watch that channel, they do a great job at being unbiased, but excited for every team.
