Anybody know what a vega Kammback gt set up for a V8 (mounts, swap headers,
Monza rear end, etc) everything but the engine and trans would be worth? It
is very straight and rust free.
cool looking wagon, I have a couple vegas myself. are you selling a lower
air deflector online? saw vega with same paint job in a pic on same auction

Chevy Vega Wagon Drag Racing In Sturgis, SD Sturgis Dragway 2009
Here is the vega again this time keeping the front wheels alittle closer to the ground :) running a 6.60 @ 103 in the 1/8th on all motor which is a sbc .
1973 Chevy Vega Wagon 565ci BBC
73 Chevy Vega Wagon idling through a pair of 4" Dynomax bullet muffs. It's powered by a Reher-Morrison 565ci BBC. 980hp and 811ft/lbs.
@savagele Man don't even listen to crap like that. Some kid who doesn't
know his ass from his elbow about an engine much less what's inside one.
World products heads are junk if you're talking serious horsepower..that
alone tells me he's full of garbage. Nice sound clip..I wouldn't exactly
call your camshaft small lol. What is it close to 800 lift? I have a video
on my page of a 522 morrison engine..ck it out. He has a 762 roller in his
believe is what the lift is..Somwhere around that anyways.
@bigmrclean The engine was brand new with zero passes on it at the time of
this video. The engine now has less than 12 passes on it. I have been doing
a bunch of upgrades to the car since a big wheelie ended up with a smashed
exhaust system. The car is now ready to go!
@iceman5X75 reaction times doesnt have anything to do with your et time.
the clock doesnt start untill you move. but you are right the reaction time
wins the race. I dont dial in faster than i run. hence me winning points
almost every year
@iceman5X75 really my car constantly runs 7.90 to 7.95 in 90+ degree
weather. under that it is 7.80-7.84 pretty much every pass. so they can be
made to repeat the same times:) thats how you bracket race buddy
@savagele Give me some idea as to the price please. Im a serious cash buyer
but not silly . Looking for someone who needs the money and has a good
running Drag car in exchange. Email me . Thanks.
I can tell, those make a big difference when you are using a naturally
aspirated car and a lot of people don't even realize it, instead they just
go out and get solid power forged ones.
1000+hp and small bump stick don't belong in the same sentence. It takes a
lot of air to make 1000hp. My cam is nothing radical, but it isn't exactly
small either. Post your cam specs.
Can you give me a rough idea what youd sell the Vega Wagon for ? I am a
cash buyer , dont need to take out a loan , and am looking for a race car
for my local 1/8th track. Thanks.
@savagele Thanks man! Wantin' a 565 like yours!...The mustang is on "Past
times" on Speed channel...I'm sure you've heard of it or seen it. How old
is the 565?
How are they fixable? The big Caprice, easy enough. New sheetmetal (hood,
fenders, inner fenders, bumper, grille and maybe headlight housings) up
front, might even be able to straighten some of those items at a body shop
and reuse them. Maybe a little frame pulling up front, though I doubt it
(the bumper brackets probably slid back a bit where they bolt to the frame
and absorbed the hit). Might need new motor mounts after that shock, and
possibly a new radiator if the motor mounts and transmission mount all let
go and the fan hit the radiator. Most of this is worst-case thinking of
course. I've definitely seen worse than that restored to like-new condition.
The Vega... Probably fucked, unless you had a fat wallet and an attachment
to the car. There's a similar video of a '71 Impala hitting a '71 Vega
head-on. The Impala won there, too, no contest.
