I found out through a report about adoption in Spain a couple of years ago who would love to adopt a baby, even if the baby had a disorder. I've met people who love their children, even those born with disorders as well. As for NFP being too unreliable, a lot of people I know have been using it because it has no side effects and they seem to think it is effective. It's worked out for them wonderfully. I'm glad I introduced them to it. Not forcing you to use it, just showing my support for it. :)

You know that anything that even has a low chance of causing miscarriage is an abortifacient, right? Vitamin c, yeast, and nutmeg are all abortifacients. You can probably increase the chance of miscarriage from consuming too much of any substance. Just the radiation from a cellphone can increase the chance of miscarriage. So, you should probably throw those out of the window. Cigarettes? Causes abortion. Vehicles? Causes abortion. Contaminated water? Causes abortion. Hair Dye? Causes abortion.

Your sources are pro-life groups trying to suppress a woman's ability to choose the size of her own family! Groups like ALL or sites (like no room for contraception). haha.. But you're right Plan B is indeed harsh on the body causing nausea and cramps, but then again so dose an unwanted pregnancy. Heres a solution, Plan ahead don't plan B. Use preemptive contraception to protect yourself. Ok, The morning after pill is hight in progesterone (which is released shortly after ovulation in high quantities anyway) is needed to sustain the pregnancy. Whereas RU486, a real abortion pill, is a progesterone blocker. Further there is only a poorly done meta analysis...

@sta How is it a planned abortion, when the whole goal is to avoid being pregnant? Most of the times a sperm does not meet up with the egg when on the pill. Hence how is an abortion when its actually pregnancy prevention? The woman isn't pregnant until the egg is fully implanted, not implanted on a weak liner that is about fall apart. That would mostly have happened whether she took the pill or not. BTW do you also hold issue with OJ? It too can cause an fertilized egg from implanting as well.

@ElliePearl actually some sperm do "hit the egg" and the egg will try to implant on the uterus but since the lying has been thinned out by BC the baby is aborted. "Birth Control" is NOT 100% effective at ALL! Women still GET PREGNANT on "Birth Control" and cause fertalized eggs to be aborted. Also BC is harmful to the woman and disrespectful to our life-bearing bodies. If you do not want a child...simple..do not have sex. We are human beings not salvage animals that cannot control ourselves.

@sgod33 ....Onan refused to conceive a child with his brothers widow, because he didn't want to share his inheritances. It would have meant less land and money for him. I suggest you actually start reading and studying the history of your bible better before using it justfie things you don't understand. BC was made by sciences, like computers, vaccines, cancer treatments, cars, cellphones, etc... Now here is are things your bible promotes that aren't practiced in most 1st world countries....

@sgod33 1. the pill was not invented by Sanger. 2. She wasn't racist. She actually did a lot of work trying help people of different races. What pro lifers have done is take her work out of context to make her look like a racist. She did once give a lecture about women health for the KKK, which there a pic was take. But back then the KKK was kinda like what NOM is today. The real racist were the Rockfellows who tried to use her work for EUGENICS! Theses are common lies from pro life groups!

Life may begin at conception, but this conceived one does not feel for another 3 weeks. The nerves have yet to develop. A mind that knows what is going on has yet to develop. The genetic code is in place, that's about it. A chemical abortion is pretty humane if you ask me. You would think twice if you got your gf knocked up. BC could cause abortion ONLY if the consumer does not take it properly. This is why we need to be smart about birth control. Take it everyday, and at the same time.

You seem very angry, vladimir. Call me all the names you want, but I'm still glad I had that abortion. BTW, I had one abortion -- my partner at the time had had SEVEN. It was very hard to get him to use birth control. He didn't really much care if his girlfriends had to get abortions. I'm so glad, SO GLAD, that I don't have a child tying me to him. HALLELUJAH! I am so glad that abortion is available to women in America! Yay!! It's SO MUCH better than having children with icky guys.

Okay let's get this straight. I'm a Christian girl and I am on birth control. Birth control does not cause abortion. Just because it does things to let the woman's body not create a baby does NOT in one bit make it an abortifacient! If I am going to hell for stopping a baby from being born, so be it but you my sir are being a complete irrational radical Christian who needs to take a seat from a discussion that is not mean for a man to put his comments into. @ElliePearl actually there is a way to prevent "unplanned pregnancies" its called abstinence:) It is 100% effective with no harmful side effects--like ending the life of a human being. A human being is created the moment a sperm fertalizes an egg. At this moment a very unique DNA is formed. A human being is created..and it will continue to grow until it is strong enough to live on its own...just like a toddler, or a child, or an elderly that depends on another human for survival.

Everything the pill does and how it works and what the possible side effects are are all on the package. Women are not uninformed. Oh, and as for the third mechanism, that's only a theory. It's not proven that it does that. (But it's still on the package as a possible effect) Not that every woman necessarily cares. As for myself, a pill working that way wouldn't be a problem but a third line of defense that spares me the trouble and expense of getting an abortion after becoming pregnant.

If by "frail," you mean incapable of understanding your meaning when you omitted rather crucial words like "unprotected," you're partly right. Of course, not all unprotected sex "inevitably" results in pregnancy -- just ask anyone struggling with infertility. I have to say, it's just adorable the way you bluster and bleat and forget to say what you mean, then call others "frail." Adorable. First of all, a fertilized egg is not a "baby," and second of all, plenty of married women use the pill. There are probably women who are virgins when they get married who go on the pill. I found out about this last July and stopped taking the pill. I can't believe that I could have potentially lost children I never knew existed. It makes me so sad! I'm angry that my doctor never had to tell me these effects. She mentioned weight gain but didn't mention that I could be starving my unborn child until it dies...I hate the US medical system. =(

I've always been aware that the pill thins the uterine lining. I'd like to see some actual research on how often this happens. They are discussing theories here. I know many people who have conceived and given birth while on the pill, so it obviously allow pregnancy sometimes.

In some states, especially the sourthern states and Bible Belt states, they don't have to give the school kids accurate information about sex, they just have to tell them to abstain. The poor kid probably thinks you get pregnant and an STD every time you have sex.
