Man what is with that guy on the right? I used to watch the Lip on and off and so I saw a bunch of vids with that guy and that one hot chick - and I always though he was creepy weird, but he grew on me and usually he's pretty insightful - but this last summer i watched a vid to see where the guys at Lip stood on the Israeli slaughter on Gaza, and this guy did nothing but spew pro-Zionists right-wing racist and really - arrogantly-ignorant talking point propaganda that I couldn't watch the rest of the 6 minute clip after being not even half way through! Then here, he's making light and throughout the clip he's obviously attempting to delegitimize as well as marginalize this extremely important step in the right direction. Many of mainstream media do this sort of shit all the damn time and it drives me nuts, and so that's a huge reason why this guy and this vid specifically as any he's when when they are talking Israel - pisses the shit out of me, because this is supposed to be the alternative media source, and we shouldn't be subjected to the same nonsense corporate media does by incessantly down-playing the significance of something such as this. Now it is like the other guy said, a step in the right direction - and a tiny one at that. But it still is an important one and other's not only need to - but will follow sooner rather than later as the BDS movement and Palestine's Solidarity Movement and groups like Jews Voice for Peace are all gaining huge victories by getting the Presbyterian Church in the US for example, as a whole to divest from Israel and companies associated with it! And as time goes on - more ore will come! "To gauge public reaction' - what are you talking about!? No, they could care two shits about the 'reaction", they are attempting to bring this process into the mainstream and add more fuel to the fire of the world's collective outrage over Israel's incessant commission of war-crimes. And then to add to this,left-hand side guy sounded utterly terrified of actually stepping on people's toes there at the end of the clip. It's sad to see people who allow their fear of criticism to affects whether or not they will publicly come out in support for the right side of history. And by the way though, the biggest problem with this whole thing is the utter and quite depressing amount of sheer ignorance on this topic which leads to people pull a move like this dude did above, because they doesn't know enough to take a stand either way. The reason people support Gaza is because it's become nothing short of a massive version of the Warsaw Ghetto, and to the extent of the utter devastation of the last two conflicts from 08 and 2012, let alone this last one I can't imagine how awful it is! After I was there last summer, it already looked like Stalingrad and from photos I've seen of it now, breathtakingly horrific to say the least. When Israel keeps such a brutal and illegal siege on Gaza while restricting random goods from entering that have nothing to do with safety but everything to do with collective punishment, which then forces them to dig tunnels to bring in many essential things - as well as weapons, but in case people forgot, Palestinians being occupied have the legal right to use violent force in resisting their oppressors. Israel, being the occupier has the special responsibility in these situations. So that's why when they bitch about the rockets, after though maintaining a brutal siege even though they are the ones directly responsible for those projectiles coming over in the first damn place!!! by perpetrated acts such as killing civilians randomly and more importantly, killing them on a regular basis. A few each and every month during what was and is supposed to be ceasefires! But, because there aren't rockets coming in and killing or scarring Israeli citizens- well then nobody give a shit, an so everyone just assumes all is well and despite the ongoing abuse and murder being perpetrated by the IDF on a wide scale every damn year! All of these crimes are committed of course with the express purpose of imposing their will upon those who are occupied all the while ethnically cleansing them since the Nakba to this very day: with each and every new Israel settler-structure going up in the West Bank which supposedly is the area where this fictitious Palestinian state will go. The two state solution is and has been for years now - dead and gone, By actually implementing the deals that it has made with Hamas twice before, in 09 and 2012 where they signed ceasefires saying they loosen the blockade, but they always renege as they will again. This is was causes the rocket attacks. Israel has the ability to end all of this and the Palestinians have no power in this at all. And the morons saying that Hamas is trying to "wipe Israel off of the map," with their pathetic Roman-Candle esque fireworks that we call rockets due to the charter of Hamas is hilariously uninformed or lying through their teeth! Israel was and is the only side keeper another from existing while refusing to acknowledge that Palestinians have a right to have a sovereign state of their own, and so it is utterly ridiculous to put that back on Hamas which is nothing more than a resistance movement which developed a political party too, but when it's politicians and leaders are assassinated on a regular basis by Israel as they violate ceasefire after ceasefire agreement! Hamas doesn't speak for all of those in Gaza, and they certainly dont maintain a scintilla of the power over the people Gaza as Israel would have you believe. The largest socialist party is based in Gaza as well as many others, and on top of that they even more so don't speak for those in the W-Bank, so how is it Hamas' duty to acknowledge Israels right to exist - all the while they are the ones who are being wiped off of the map. Israel has the means, and Hamas doesn't nor will it ever have the means to actually pose any sort of existential threat to one of the largest and most dominant militaries in the world who also have Nukes for fuck's sake! Israel bitches about these "terror-tunnels," once again they only exist because of the blockade subsequent siege of Gaza,. The rocket fire coming in, only started after hundreds of Palestinians were rounded up and imprisoned in West bank while also a numb er of Hamas members were killed all in the pursuit of those abducted kids whom Israel's Government turns out - had already know from the get go that they were most likely killed on the spot, but used the idea that they could still be alive and lied to the public at large about this and manipulated the public out-cry to allow them to commit this rampage with of course: eventually lead to Hamas finally responding with rocket-launches which was the pretext Israel needed to go in and commit an utter massacre. Israel is in complete control and they like all occupiers cant nor will they ever on their wn end their dominance and oppression of the occupied until they are forced to externally through some sort of combination of methods like the BDS campaign is doing now!
