Greetings, i am just learning GIS with QGIS! I have access to three
separate OS, MAC, LINUX 17.2 and WINDOWS 8,1. Of the three OS, I've found
Windows to be the most stable, as I've crashed the QGIS software in both
LINUX and MAC while attempting to save a spatialite file format. I'm just
wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue? I'd like to get the
LINUX OS tweaked, as i tend to believe i'll be converting over to LINUX
from the WINDOWS environment in the near future!
+kc johnson I use Windows. Currently I'm running 10 and I haven't had any stability issues with QGIS. I never had any problems with QGIS on windows 7 either. I've thought about moving away from Windows myself, but there are just too many applications that I use that need a .NET framework.
I have a problem with 'conversion' under 'raster' in the menù bar. I have
this error when I try to convert a shapefile into raster file:"At least one
of -3d, -burn or -a required. ". How can I solve it?
+andrea lancia so it sounds like you are having an issue with the gdal plugin. When you select the "Rasterize" command, there is a text box at the bottom of the dialog box. In it you can set the parameters. Try putting this in there:gdal_rasterize -a SHAPE_AREA -l [layer name] "[shapefile path]"you will have actually put the layer name in and the shapefile path (make sure to delete the brackets).
