I discovered how to do this when I was a little girl and watching the turtle doves. Before this, I haven't seen anyone else do what I do! You do it very well! I've had so much fun, over the years, with this and having the birds come right up within a foot of me and walk back and forth. They are beautiful birds!

+Jennifer Smith How great! That's the part I enjoy Jennifer, being able to draw them near and observe them. They come to our little fish pond to drink. I have even found a few wounded or about done in by the heat and have been able to rescue them, give them some water and send them on their way. Thanks for being a friend of nature.

+Vanlal Hruaia A couple of tips for you. The fingers of your right hand should be in the crease of your left hand (where the fingers meet the palm). When blowing on your thumbs, top lip above the knuckles on your thumb, bottom lip below the knuckles on your thumb. HERE'S an EASY CHEAT... Use a plastic 16 ounce soda bottle and blow across the top. You can squeeze the bottle a bit to change pitch. ;-) Thanks for trying it out!
