I am not Trent but I do it like this. At first I glue on the motor-mount
with the motor and the two aileron servos. After that I put the receiver,
the battery and the esc onto the airplane (without glueing or cutting
anything out of the wing) and move these electronics over the airplane
until everything is in balance and the CG is where it needs to be.
Sometimes I tape the elctronics onto the plane and do some glide-tests
(like Will from MikeysRC does) so that I can see how the plane behaves.
Hey Trent, great calc and explanation. I am having difficutly witha scratch
built wing with CG. This will help. I did not know to measure where the
root cord would have met if not cut out. Question for you though, how
should the motor line up? Even with the bottom of the airfoil, top, above,
below, does it matter? Also, how far behind the foam cutout should the
motor/prop be? Does it matter?
How do you determine the degree of travel for elevator and aileron for a
flying wing. example: tech one popwing gives a 15 degree deflection up and
down or 28mm travel. I am getting a Zeta bv-38 horten and I want to find
out in case the manual does not have specific information. Thanks. Very
informative platform you have, your videos have helped me infinitely!
you should let the polaris die. it seemed to have a lot of problems so far.
it would be more exciting if you started a new build. either way great
stuff you are putting out here. cheers:)!!
Hi Trent! Love your videos although I have been in the game for years. I am
cutting a blunt nose wing now . Do you have any tips on cg on that? Just to
imagine a longer pointy nose? Thanks

Even more shame you think anyone values a response 6 months later. No response is required this time. But I imagine you'll forget in 6 months and have something you felt was important say, anyway. Right? Wrong.
@warrenqualls Thanks so much for your input. Quite a bit works the way you
pointed out, but not all the time. There are many systems with positive
trigger circuits and they're usually odd-balls. Volvo was one of them and
not all models. Every once in a while I get surprised with a Pos. trigger
circuit. But that's besides the point. The purpose of this videos is to
show techniques, which are correct and used to detect open circuits. The
flow of current and specific trigger is irrelevant here.
I think it may be the ecm because it is real hot to the touch and the
engine only misses after car warms up. when i first bought the car,it only
did it some of the time but now it does it all the time after the engine
warms up. i cleaned the maf sensor and it ran like new for five minutes but
went back to doing the same thing. i disconnected maf sensor a d the engine
would hardly run. thank you.
ok . Frist thing is the computer works on and with the ground not the
positive . you are showing volts .. volts where you show would not be
there! you show a lot of hot wires. its just not the way it works. I am a
Tech and a ham. I do know what is going on. most computer only have a very
few hot wires. relays where the relays and the fuses. its not the real way
in the world.
Open up the ECM and take a look inside. There are two possibilities, one
the ECM is faulty and the other is a short, not enough to blow a fuse but
drawing too much current. You need to ID the hot wire and the component
asap or you may see a fire or melted wiring harness. At that point you'll
really have an issue... Good luck and keep me posted.
@warrenqualls Hello, well I invite you to post your opinions and encourage
you to be much more forthcoming. Please, explain your point with details so
that we can expose the truth through analysis. I am sure the many thousands
of our viewers who read these posts will benefit. Thanks so much for
participating.
hi, im having trouble on a 1988 nissan 200sx se v-6. i have a misfire but
when i pull a grey wire from the ecu, it temporarily straightens out. i
need to know how to ohm it out. i need to find in the wire harness where
the other end goes. thank you for these helpful videos.
No wire should get hot like that on any vehicle. You need to find out what
this wire is. Buy the manual from Hynes, rent Alldata time online or
whatever. I recommend that you don't drive your vehicle, until you fix the
issue. I keep asking for more information...
What's are the things the ECM needs to pulse injectors: It needs a crank
signal, and most often "ALSO" a CAM signal depending on the car, it needs
power and ground to the ECM (check 5 volt reference) and VOILA... Check
these things first then post back...Thanks.
I have a 95 windstar that had fuel dumping into a cylinder caused eng. to
blow. Replaced motor, fuel injectors, & ecm. Fuel is not in cylinder but gas
is going into oil & fuel mileage is not that great. I am at a loss for what
to do, can you advise?
Hi guys I got an 87 Rx7 my injectors are not pulsing the fuel pump is
working cuz I check next to the injectors n am getting fuel n its good I
change the ecu n its stil the same thing not pulsing pls help
We have various videos here on the subject. You need an Oscilloscope and
some know how. We also have books and DVDs at Google-Play and Amazon,
keyword Author Mandy Concepcion. Good luck.
My pleasure, we also have started a European Series on BMW as well as an
Advanced Electronics Series and Stories from the Road. Use all these to
search our channel. Thanks again...
Oj, but what is this Gray wire for? Which components does it feed? For a
resistance check you need to find out more about the circuit. Post back
with more. Thanks for posting.
Check fuel pressure regulator and check injector pulsation timing to make
sure ECM is not dumping to much fuel. What you have is an injection issue.
Need more info to help.
actually, its the computer that is hot. the car will misfire and sometimes
will run good for a second or two but it will ruin fine for the first few
minutes when its cold.
