2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know
//www.TFLcar.com ) On this episode of The Fast Lane Car, we take a look at the recently announced Chevrolet Corvette GS. With all the feature of the Z06 ...
+TNBposse First of all, GM have made it clear that the overheating issue owners of the 2015 Z06 experienced was a conservative ECU setup.Secondy, I am well aware of the fact the previous Grand Sport had the same amount of hp as the base C6 Corvette. But, personally, I think it is nonsense! Just think of it, a Stingray can cost over $80,000, depending upon the amount of options you choose. I reckon a fully loaded Grand Sport can cost around $90,000, or slightly over that. Now, we're talking about Z06 price range, here. And, so, for me, it makes better sense to buy a Z06 at that price range. Now, if the Grand Coupe's engine was more powerful than that of the base corvette, then would I consider it makes sense (especially when you consider that its production line is limited to 1000). There were who 2 the power of the previous generation (C6 Z06) to be carried over to the C7 generation base Corvette. Chevy did not do that. But they should've done it with the Grand Sport. That's what Aston Martin did. When Aston Martin discontinued the DBS, the next generation DB9 continued on with that same power (510).
+tmat04 it's the same as the last gen. same power as the stingray, just aero from the Z06. that's better for the track, no stupid supercharger causing overheating, but the functional aero.
+TNBposseAnd fitting between the Stingray and Z06, it would make sense that the Grand Sport had at least the same amount of power as the C6 Z06 and Z28 Camaro (505 hp).
You know why Chevrolet built this car because they realized the Z06 can't
run track days all day without getting heat soak pulling timing, so enter
the grand sport N/A less weight less heat better for track work.
Chevy built this car because they always replace the Z51 with a grand sport. They had a GS with the C6 too and in that case they trickled down ZR1 tech. It's no conspiracy.
