+b286guy There's a huge aftermarket community for Deloreans. If one was so inclined, an LS1 engine swap can be done for around $5k all said and done. Stock tranny (manual) is good for over 300hp.I'm a little biased as an owner, I like keeping it stock. But BAE makes a bolt on turbo some owners use to bump output up to around 250hp at around 5psi. I'd be ok with that.I've ridden in a stock naturally aspirated Delorean (new cam, headers, cat, and exhaust) with 197hp and it hauled serious ass, the way John Z envisioned before the EPA mangled his car for the U.S. oil crisis market.

I know the owner, and have driven it a couple times. It makes this, what only can be described as a brap, around 4k and then it's like riding a rocket. The owner's some kinda racing legend and mechanical genius.
