16 Volt TheV UltraLITE Lithium Ion Battery
INTRODUCING THE NEW ULTRALITE LITHIUM LIFEPO4 LEADING EDGE EXCLUSIVE TECHNOLOGY FROM THEV BATTERY MOST POWERFUL & DEEP ...
Dear Sir, There IS NO battery on the floor... a yellow box of towels? THIS
is the actual battery - and it performed flawlessly - in fact, it went this
season in a ARDL car and worked great!.
I read a lot of discussions online about swapping the Honda Fit's 151R battery with the stronger 51R but a lot of mods involved battery cable extensions or ...
+R56 HS the positive lead clip is the little blue clip (circled/mentioned near the end of the video) on the positive lead. once the new battery is in, the clip needs to be moved up the cable so that it can be secured on the bracket. the clip is just a bit finicky to remove (it looks like it should just slide along the cable but it doesn't). I can look at it tonight and let you know how it did it (I think it was with two flathead screwdriver tips to pry it open) if you haven't finished it. just let me know
Used this today on my girlfriend's 2011 Fit. I couldn't figure out how to
open that positive lead clip and the battery tray/box was in the way anyway
so I wound up drilling a couple holes and wire tied the lead to the tray.
No issues with start up, just the usual radio code thing. Thanks for
posting this!
you're welcome! it really frustrated me that the clip didn't just slide up the cable, as it seems it would/should. i think i ended up using two screwdrivers to actually pop the clip open, if i remember correctly (i'd have to look at it again). smart approach with the zipe ties and couple of holes in the plastic box. glad to hear the video helped!
Excellent video, I'm going to try this myself. It seems the manufacturer of
the battery would play into this (different sizes for 51R?). Who did you
get your battery from? Thanks.
+robesrocks thanks (and sorry for the delayed response)! i don't think* (could very well be wrong) that the 51Rs come in different physical sizes. i do know that some of the 51Rs come with higher or lower cold cranking amps though. i got mine at a local carquest - i can check it more closely over the weekend if you'd like a part number or anything like that
thanks for the tips- totally did the trick! for anyone else looking to do
this, i found using flush cutters was an easy way to quickly/safely trim
the fins off of the air filter cover.
+Charlie Domingo glad to hear it helped! it's a very basic but functional approach so it's easy to do. solid input on the flush cutters. hope it treats you well!
late update but please see my latest comment at the top of the comments. it's possible* that the idle learn procedure will need to be done (no need to go to the dealership for it or anything like that though)
not that i've read or experienced. nothing was needed after i did the battery swap, aside from entering the code for the radio and re-programming the stations. the car has run fine and we haven't had any problems at all. from what i know and can tell, there's no need to get the control module recalibrated
