+Slack JicholsonMy point remains, if you prefer a BMW you would save up to buy it.  Preferences matter, in addition to the workmanship.  I don't have an issues with the FJ.   But I prefer BMW.  That's all there is to it for me.  At times, while riding off road I ENVY the ability of my friends that are riding other bikes because they are riding a lighter, less expensive to fix, more capable machine.Envy is not ALWAYS a bad thing.

+SwollenCranium "public show of concern"!! WUT!? I think you're perceiving my original comment as some kind of negative criticism, its not its just a fact that if you have enough money you'd have the BMW over the FJ-09, envy doesnt enter into it, I have neither bike.

Test rode the s1000xr about a month ago. It's Fast!! Really fast. Right there with the s1000r which it should be with the same engine. I took it up Palomar Mountain in North San Diego County. Loved everything about it. Did get some vibrations through midrange but not enough to to change my mind about the bike. In my opinion it feels a little more sportbike oriented than the Multistrada. Still on my short list for new bike.

The new Multistrada is also rated at 160 hp. The new benchmark will be the new KTM Super Duke GT.

+dinonoce Yeah the multistrada is a great ride. The s1000xr is 160 but really feels like 180hp. It's a totally different feel of power than the Multistrada. I do think the Multistrada is a better everyday long hual bike though. The XR feels more like the s1000r only with a better riding position.
