+Ranj Singh Ranj, Thank you for your comments, I would say that space is an issue with most restorations but setting this up on blocks would still work due to the shear weight of the IRS. I think you could even turn it with a small electric motor just to check for any noise even if you don‘t run the engine, Running the engine on the floor is not difficult and well worth the effort, This is the perfect time to sort out any issues before you spend many hours fitting it all back in the car!

This sounds like metal on metal whcih is rubbing just slightyl until it
gets hot from the time pent dricing and then expands to make the sound.
water thrower rubbing? U-Joint Dust shield rubbing? REmoving the hweel will
say something. Spraying some WD40 into the U-joints and or shield to hib
inbterfaces may help isolate the source.
