This recipe relies on the tomatoes being very red, ripe and lush -- so it can only be made when tomatoes are well in season. Buy the best you can afford, ...
Julias Husband: What is it you REALLY like to do? Julia: Eat Both:
HAHAHAHAHAH!! Julia:I like to! Husband: I know, i know, and you are so good
at it! i mean look at you! Julia: im practically growing infront of you!!!!
ROFL COPTER!!!!!!!
Oh man, this is one of the most incredible scenes in this GREAT movie. I
always laugh myself insane over this, between the facial expressions on
both of them, "Julia's" voice and the lines. Absolutely great!
I've loved both actors in other projects but together they were fabulous :)
They conveyed so much affection, history, and humor in their relationship.
For me, they were the highlight of the movie.
I love Bruschetta. It's such a great starter, or just as a nice snack. I am
so making this tomorrow. Although I need the bread... Thanks for another
awesome idea Julie. You're the best. :)
Happy Vegan MoFo Day 7! Today I created bruschetta inspired by the movie Julie & Julia. Towards the beginning, Julie Powell and her husband Eric enjoy a ...
Vegan Shrimp Butter and Tomato Sandwich (8.22.12 - Day 10)
So to stay on the tomato sandwich train we started yesterday, today we will be vegan-izing the shrimp butter and tomato sandwich recipe from Paula Deen's ...
And to me, really "veganizing" a recipe would be staying closer to the
original, with a vegan mayo option previously & vegan shrimp substitute
here. Using Old Bay isn't going to trick me into thinking cucumbers are
shrimp. Basically, these last two would be fine if you're just making up
vegan options, but if you're intention is to create the vegan version of
Paula's recipes... well... But don't get me wrong, I enjoy & appreciate
what you're doing!!
Yes, I see that, I made it, I am veganizing a whole cookbook. Some recipes
are simple, some are complicated. If you would like to replace regular
shrimp with vegan shrimp, there is a brand called Sophie's. I prefer not to
puck so I used cucumbers. My thumbnail pictures are true representations of
the video, if you think the video recipe will be too simple for your taste,
don't click on it.
I hope I'm not a jerk for pointing this out, but "boule" is pronounced
"bool" (rhymes with "cool"). It means "ball" in French and is so called
because of its round shape. Also, I love that you aren't using typical
meat/seafood substitutes but are opting for delicious whole foods instead.
Keep up the great work! :)
I have watched most of your videos ok and a lot of the recipes I like and
want to try myself. But seriously don't you see yourself that all you
really posted today is a bread cucumber and tomato sandwich? And in all
honesty no I DON'T SEE how a cucumber replaces or reminds shrimps.
No means to cook or make anything in my room...I just mentally ate one of
those sandwiches in the video, with all my hunger and imaginative might..
and it still feels so... ummm! right down to my heart! Thanx,
sweetestvegan!
Love watching your vids because you're so fun to watch, but maybe when
they're as similar as the last two, they could be combined into one vid?
Especially since there's not a lot that goes into either one...?
looks like it needs meat.
If we were no supposed to eat animals they would have been made of
something besides meat.... like sand or clay. Vegans are cute. :)
I love your hair! It looks so good styled this way!
Tomato Sandwich (8.21.12 - Day 9) Tea Party Tomato Sandwiches
Tomato sandwiches are served at every southern party according to Paula Deen. While I know what she means, the only similar sandwich I can think of that I ate ...
Finally something that meets my skill level in the kitchen! Lol. Just
kidding. Think you're totally right, when something has only a few key
ingredients, its the quality of those ingredients that becomes crucial.
Looks good to me! =)
"...Punk Bread..." LOL!!!! You are too funny and adorable. Haven't heard
"punk" since I used to use it when boys in elementary school were acting
like....punks!! :) Keep up the charming videos. You are as cute as a button.
I say marinate your tomatoes with a little Italian seasoning, olive oil and
balsamic or rice wine vinegar, over night. Then place on your bread and put
a little of the dressing on the bread and use brown grainy mustard.
I made this recipe over the weekend. I tweaked it a bit by adding olives
and avocado:) It was SO GOOD! I got the tomatoes and the "good bread" at
the farmers market. It really made all the difference:)
You can't say no offense, after saying something offensive. Especially when
you don't know how to spell offense. How exactly am I to vegan-ize every
recipe in a cookbook if I just randomly skip some?
