+Mike Hits Just plain 'ol water. You need to make the pad quite moist and if it gets a bit dry as you rub, spray a bit more on the paintwork. Hope it works for you too.

+yorkshirejohn100 women with long nails I find.Can account for every scratch to women like that, or the ones that put bags on your bonnet or boot while they are getting in.I exploded when I saw them doing that (followed by something along the lines of get that off my ruddy car).That and these type of door handles are prone to it by design.... they should all be the flush looking kind which hide the scratch underneath in my opinion.
