Cool. Is this electric motor, or actual nitro-burning mini engine? I could
envision people building cars like this to race and wreck in parking lots
at night after all the yuppies have gone home to their television sets, and
the lots are empty.
Of course I do, in the train world HO is 1:87,in the slot car world its a
little different, the HO comes around from the fact that the rail spacing
is the same as the HO trains, most of the cars are 64th Scale. Most T-Jets
are 72nd scale. The Eldarado at the end is 1:43. Its just a case of what
ever goes and what ever fits !
yeah, the track tends to bend and buckle a little, the wood its stilling on
was just some scrap, and the afx track never goes together 100% straight
anyhow. and to top it all off, it lives out side, rain, wind and sun all
take their tolls, but it still works...
Ok, anyone who dragraces slot cars needs to get a life. That defeats the
whole point of racing slot cars, which is throttle control. In drag racing
it's just "pedal to the medal." Oh, what fun. Maybe drags would be okay for
testing, but NOTHING MORE.
dunno but, i got a junior dragster.. runs at perth motorplex 1/8 mile over
105 km/h but my new engine ill be running about maybe 115 to 120 km/h. what
car u drive? mine is 3 in inches off the floor lol watch my slideshow of it
Fast! the track is 1/265th mile (real) 1/4mile (64th scale) which is about
6.3m and the track record is about 0.600 of a second so thats about 10m/s
for an average speed, which is approaching 40km/h for average speed...
the faster cars are doing the scale 1/4 in about 0.600 seconds, so yeah,
scale speed is rediculous ! unfortunately there is no speed trap. Actuall
speed of these cars is probably approaching 30mph or more ?
Nah, never tried to run any of them with out guide pins. Some of the cars
just pop out of the slot. The track is actually built on a plank of wood,
so not quite saw horses, but close enough !
This movie gives me the inspiration to finish our own scalextric drag
project. We usually drink a lot of bear while racing so after a few hours a
drag strip is perfect...
i love doing that with my Afx all the way down the corridor. thats a good
idea to sit it up on work horses. did you take the guiding pin out on some
of those runs?
Is this craig and tinas track ?If so hi! from the crazy pommes in the u.k
martin ,ginney ,christopher and hello to all that used to go to the race
meets.
Just curious about what distance and voltage you are running?
Your cars are quick.
Check out //nitroslots.com/ where we proxy drag race HO cars. Lots of
different classes, you may be interested.
