Good question! I do have a video on Character Analysis essays, which could be written in a short time. But, you might need to write about the theme instead -- the message or insight or issue of the short story. My general suggestions are these: 1) Make your first sentence a broad inference about your topic. Don't make it a general statement about humans in general, though. 2) Assert a specific inference as your thesis. 3) Quote to support. 3) Drive home your point in the conclusion. Good luck!

This is awesome, I'm writing a literary analysis paper on this story and was going to focus on Dee's identity crisis but now that you pointed out "Mama" is the real focus I feel have much more to work off of. Thank you so much!

Good question! I started these videos to help my online students. I still send my students here, but I've done some videos on stories and poems that I don't teach as well. I just enjoy it!
