I almost feel obligated to apologize for the blatant ignorance/arrogance of some of the other Americans on this board. We did not invent the first automobile, so stop acting like we did. Back on topic. Ford is now headed in the right direction, has been for the last couple of years, and the new Fusion and Taurus are a testament to how an American car company can succeed when they put innovation, value, and CUSTOMERS before profits. A great product will make money, and Ford has finally learned.

@jalclk1244 the Fusion still looks much better, drives better, has higher cabin tech, sync, sony audio, my ford touch, better materials, 5 star crash tested, a best in class hybrid version, best in class sport version which the Sonata can't match, and a reliable nameplate. Ford is implementing ecoboost turbo charging on virtually all of their vehicles by 2012. Last time I checked the Ford Fusion is outselling the Sonata, but whatever you like, I will never own a Korean car.

@regisiam The fusion doesn't go to a Lincoln dealership. My mother takes hers to a Ford dealership. Sunnyside Ford in Holden, MA and they're very good with the cars. It's under warranty. It's only a year old now. So it was done for FREE. The car hasn't had any other trouble. I have a 1999 escort that was my mothers that she bought in 2000. Again, it's never broken down or had any trouble. Don't forget that Ford used a lot of Mazda's technology and engines in there vehicles

@giannial1985 Transmission re-programmed for free? My experience with Lincoln stealership is that they charge you a very painful price. The smart fortwo fuel efficiency is about the same as fusion hybrid wow bravo to ford. I will wait for a year before baying a Lincoln or a ford again, I want to be sure that American cars becomes more reliable and trustworthy.When I put more than 30k in a car I want to last at least 5 years pain free. Thanks for the feedback

@Blackgam3r I know that Honda has plants all over the globe & of course there not Union. People seem to think Unions close plants then again people gotta ask them selfs look how many NON union plants have closed as well. People have the right to have a real voice in the work place. I blame the top dogs for running things into the ground. I'm glad to support my Union Brothers & Sisters by buying American & making sure I buy Union made cars.

@jalclk1244 - I drive a Kia Spectra and it is an awesome car. I also love the way this Fusion looks and drives - it is damn nice. Hyundai and Ford are both 2 great companies. Please don't throw Ford into the mix with GM and Chrysler....Ford never took 1 taxpayer dollar during the bailouts of 2008 and Mulaly and company have really turned the boat around in Detroit for Ford. Give credit where credit is due.

ford didnt make the first car. henry ford simply made it easier to produce them at a higher rate and lower price. credit for the first car does go to the germans, Benz to be exact. He only invented the original "modern car," powered by gasoline. The original automobile, was built in 1672 powered by a steam engine. Learn history, ignorant people. at least sino52c and a few others know something..

@ Headshot426 no I'm not Asian but I like good quality that's why I would trade my fusion , this car is so flumzy that in strong wind am affrad that am Gona loose a bumper or something! Let me put it like this, If you never had anything alse this is a good car , but after you try German or nice japanise car fusion becomes cheeply made but over priced mid sedan with weak engine!

@UATimka The fusion isn't really American. It's a re badged Mazda 6 and with different styling. Shares the same engines with the 6 too. Ford is half Japanese. Just like my escort is the same as the Protege. I happen to find the engine strong in the 2010's and they are quiet like the camry and handle like the accord. I like all three, but just saying.

@nipmanga Well your from Japan so I could understand why you dont like American styling.. But Japan designs uglier cars then the fusion... Look up Nissan Cube, Honda Element, Scion XB, and 2010 Acura TL... All those cars are way uglier than the Fusion in my opinion.. I even have Japanese car fanatic friends that agree with me on this..

@jukeboxman1950 If foreign Automakers had the UAW sucking on their blood I'm sure they'd decide to make alot of their cars in Mexico too. :P In fact the Chevy Volt's battery's cost was able to be cut in half completely due to the fact that the facility they are making it at is not directly under GM thus not being run by the union.

@regisiam Hey I have an 06 and no problems whatsoever with it. I obviously changed the thermostat when I did my antifreeze flush, but no problems whatsoever on it. Just regaular maintenance. Very good product from FORD. Why spend more money on a Camry? It's just a myth. Camry interiors aren't that extravagant anyway.

Definitely a great improvement over the fusion 2006. I will wait for two years before buying one because I had a bad reliability experience with lincoln brand in the past . I hope this fusion is solid and reliable car ,we have to see how it will run five or seven years from now. I think the price is very fair

I test drove a Fusion SEL w/ a V6 yesterday, it was silver with black leather, nice car but it felt like it had a lot less power then my Camry V6. I found a fusion sport on cars dot com that I am going to go look at Monday, if it has power comparable to my Camry I might be driving it home.

My mother has a 2010 sel 4cyl. Very nice car. It reminds me of the accord with it's ride and handling, but the quietness of the camry. Why get those two when you can get it all in one with the fusion. Plus, I see a lot more fusions then any of it's competitors. :)

With all the trouble toyota has had with faulty designs and mis information one would likey be wise to avoid the cars. The Ford Fussions have been quite upto date in quality although Buick has done well.

@regisiam My mom has the 2010 sel I4 and with 14,000 miles, it's still good. Very solid, comfy, quiet, and great on gas. Only thing she had to have done, was have the transmission re-programed.

@nipmanga the new Hyundai Sonata's front end is a bit much. The car smiles at you and the car is way too round like a Toyota. The Fusion looks much more aggressive and has better lines.

Can an 06 fusion/milan owner tell me if the moon roof can open fully (not just tilt up) i test drove a car today and when i pushed the button on the roof it only tilted up. Thanks

but now im lookin into Hyundai, and they r not even competing against Ford ! Ford is not a luxury brand, thats y they have Lincoln. Plus hyundai is competing wit Acura and Lexus.

What an ugly car. Ford USA should import Ford Australia's Falcon XR6 Turbo or GT. Worked well for Pontiac with the Australian designed and built Holden Monaro (Pontiac GTO)

The Fusion is manufactured at Ford's Hermosillo Stamping & Assembly plant in Hermosillo, Sonora, MEXICO, where the similar Mercury Milan and Lincoln MKZ are also built.

Wait, it was Mazda that wanted a partnership! They wanted the partnership for Mazda can enter the American market, so thats when Ford 1st bought 10% then 50%.

Best thing Ford has made in a long time. I think it's the first Ford in my life other than suped up Mustangs that has actually made me interested in a Ford.
