We have an 03 sonoma and cant get the O2 sensor off. I believe its the
downstream. Under the truck, passenger side. Used cheater bars, and pb
blaster. Is heat necessary?
If you've done all that,heat would seem to be all that will work now. Good luck. They are a pain in the butt.

You made that way too difficult. An adjustable spanner or open end wrench
and a few quick blows from a rubber mallet would have loosened it. I doubt
that heat was needed. I know, because I have done this. With that poor
fitting adapter, I would also have the hammer action of an impact wrench at
the ready. Don't struggle.

You couldnt get any type of wrench up in the space between the engine and firewall. If there was room for a wrench,I wouldnt have had to use heat. I used heat,because there was no other alternative. Ive been working on engines for 40 of my 54 years. I think I can handle it without condescending advice given with an air of arrogance. What perplexes me is why you would watch videos on a subject you think you are an expert on?

Did the engine light go away, did you have to drive it for 100 miles for it
to go away or did you just erase it yourself?? Autozone tells me that it
should erase after 100 miles by itself!!
if you disconnect the batery for about 5 minutes, the computer looses its fault memory. when it goes back through its cycle of checking components like sensors for failure. it wont see the 02 sensor as being failed anymore. If its still on,then you quite likely have other failures as well and a code scan will tell you that. good luck!
