+Shayne O'Neill Nope lol. It is not. Only near gravitational influences. or orbiting. If firing a weapon at a target in space. the tragectory would be streight not an arc. But hey it is a game using ground based physics. They can do what they want lol.
+DGneoseeker1 They should have had blue lasers. Instead, they had the shitty ones from the Kirishima. I guess one-shotting would be too OP, though.

World of Warships: Maximizing your XP gains in 0.5.1
Cap ALL the objectives! 0.5.1 adds a huge emphasis on capping objectives, removing it largely from damage dealing. Personally I feel like they went a bit over ...
+Flamu It seems like BB's over penetrate citadels on point blank shots at close range. It makes the BB poorer brawlers, and promotes staying at 14k+ range. I guess people can adapt to it and still do good. Then again people lining up the perfect shot just to over pen, will get frustrated.
+SPYK I don't think BBs are as affected by the patch as people say. Citadels are harder to get but you still do plenty of AP damage. I literally just had a 155k damage game on my Amagi five minutes ago. Overall it might be a good change for high tier where BBs are so dominant. I'm not certain how mid tier will pan out though.
+Zato Ichi Well clearly I was a bit of a noob for not torping the BBs :)
World of Warships - Resist the Assist!
World of Warships isn't inherently hard, yet some seek ways to remove what little challenge exists. I take some time to discuss the "aim assist" mod and it's effects ...
I have three words for anyone who uses aim ass: go fuck yourself.
God I'm never going to play this game ever again unless the aim assist mod
gets banned...
+Archie Fulford He doesn't know about Warpack or the tundra mod for WOT.... tee hee :^)I give it two days tops till someone gets the aim mod working in patch 3.1, tops. And the aim mod isn't banned, and probably never will be so live with it. Also were is there a link to were Wargaming stated it's a cheat and banned it? Could you provide that link please?
+Zero01k Considering they've banned every single mod that was unfair, AND they've already banned the aim assist mod I'm calling you out on your bullshit excuses.
+Archie Fulford Wow, I was stating that Wargaming wouldn't do anything about the mod cause they never do anything about these kind of mods in the past, but oh well whatever you think m8.
+Zero01k That first sentence... my god, I knew I was dealing with stupid, but THAT stupid? Jeez. There's a waste of my time, then there's someone who I would rather fuck a land whale then even mention in any sort of conversation...
+Archie Fulford Were did i "designate" the aim assist mod as a cheat? It is three lines of code that was in the game already, not really a cheat in my book m8. The ABA mod was a cheat but Wargaming allowed cause they wanted more people to play artillery in WOT. Just wait, they will incorperate the aim assit mod back into the game so everyone will have and we can put to rest this drawed out pointless whining over something that ultamitly doesn't change the game in the long run. I find it quite funny to be called out for using it and I don't even use it anymore lol. If anything the mod gets in my way, it only works 50% of the time cause whoever reactived the code messed it up a bit. By the way I already knew how to aim before using the mod to see what the damn thing even does, which most don't really know what it actually does but seem to know so much about how bad it is. If more people would use it, they would see just how shitty it really is and stop whining about it.
+Zero01k Seriously? They've already made it impossible to use the mod. The difference between the ABA mod and the aim assist mod is one is a PROPER cheat and the other is designated as a cheat by idiots like you who don't know how to dodge artillery, and don't bother to learn how to either. I would answer the rest if it wasn't just inane drivel written by an obvious troll who approves this mod then has the cheek to tell ME to quote "Git Gud m8".
+Archie Fulford Enjoy your life long stay from this game then (you probably wasn't good at the game anyways), I find it funny as hell that any of you think that Wargaming will do anything to this mod, anyone remember Artillery Battle Assistant form WOT? Oh that's right WG approved that one too lol. People who get taken out by people using the aim assist mod Deserve it for not zig zagging or changing speeds all in their ships all the time. As in everything, "Git Gud m8 :^)".
As I understand the mod is just unlocking a feature already in the game
that was tried early in the development. I understand they felt it was too
powerful so disabled the feature in the game. I have a feeling one of the
developers that helped design the game and liked the aim assist and was
little upset it was disabled, therefore made the mod and released it to get
his wishes. The aim assist is to much of an aid. In time you can get close
to as good as the aim assist but there is a learning curve and some battles
you can't miss and others you can't hit a thing but the aim assist removes
that and makes hits close to a certainty even while target is zig zagging.
It has to go!!
+Zero01kthat is more of less what I do too. depending on the ship, Fuso and St louis are good for this is, is space out my turret firing so depending on the ship, when the last turret fires the 1st is reloaded. Not true salvo firing but close enough. It allows for pretty good tracking. That said the aim assist really helps those with it which is why WOWS dropped it. In small ships to a point it is easy to dodge but in slow turning BBs it is much harder. I understand they are in fact removing the code so the mod can't enable it at all as it will not be there.Everyone should have to learn to aim and have to guess a little not have all that done for them
+Peorhum That's what I do, a range shot then fire off the rest of my salvo, I was just trying to tell everyone how to throw people off that are using the mod and thinks it's a guaranteed hit every time they click the red X.
+Peorhum You never have used this mod have you? If your target has more than two braincells and is zig zagging the aim assit mod will do shit for you. Half the time I was using it in my "test" I didn't even click on the red X cause the mod was misleading the target half the time.
Dude ... dont worry ... when War Thunder will relise Ship's whe will take
this mod and leav u kid's playing this "Ship's" lol, Same wut whe did whit
Tank's cear's love
+TheGamingExperien Oh yea PS: Wargame shuud make same shit as WarThunder Realistic whit out this mod's... and Arcade whit all shit u wunt put in game... so it's all abaut Wargaming . And yea... u sey "More popular then WoW" well Russian's dont pay for shit... this game suport's onlly by EU, USA player's ... GG was close
"Games are meant to be challenging."
I disagree. Games are meant to be fun. That being said, the mod does go
against the spirit of this game and shouldn't be allowed. An arcade mode
could be added like War Thunder for the more "casual" players who are
interested in this title.
heya guys, I know this is a bit late but I only heard of the removal this morning... oh well, here's the preview anyway... Who knows how long it will be gone... It'll be ...
+Scitimar they make slightly more credits, cost less to repair and you can use any commander of the same nation in them without retraining to give them an additional x1.5 experience game a day.
+Nashfan13fl premium means that it makes slightly more credits per battle than regular ships but is generally accepted to be slightly weaker than other, comparable ships. The "premium" comes from the fact that you can only buy these with money. Usually it is not necessary to have a premium ship though.
Well gents, it's official - been up on the WoWS website for less than an
hour when I just checked - we're in open beta - at least on the NA server.
Need to get ahold of my friends at work tomorrow and tell them to come on
in, the water's fine.
+CloakingDonkey Yeah, I guess when I talk to my friends, I'd best add the caveat "as long as you don't want to play carriers". All other issues with the game aside, THAT is the real stick in the mud right now - that one entire class of ship, which amounts to a major portion of the game overall - is all but broken for the time being. And with all the nerfs, DD's coming in a close second for not getting any love from WG - like giving the Tier 9 and 10 Japanese BB's essentially 10 km range secondary batterys, once skills and modules are applied - a DD driver is going to be pretty much stuffed against those ships, except in the very best of circumstances. Watched one video, from before the wipe, gent took an Izumo Tier 9 BB, added in the modules and appropriate skills, ended up with 9.8 km range on his secondary battery - killed 3 DD's, did 20k direct and 10k fire damage from his secondary battery alone. I mean, come on, when I play a game, I'd like to have a chance to do well AND something of a challenge as well - the outcome being down to my own ability or lack thereof - not automatically get my backside kicked because I picked the "wrong" class of ship to play - or have a complete roflstomp at the other guy's expense because I picked the "right" class of ship to play.
+Mitchell Oates I'm still not very happy about this =/ But I guess it was inevitable.. wargaming's patch cycle is always about 2-3 weeks. And yet there were still people who didn't believe me and called me a doomsayer. WELL WHO'S LAUGHING NOW AS THE SKY IS FALLING? :D
Take the Mogami with the triple 155mm turrets, kick the rate of fire up to
7.5 rounds per minute, and you'd have a good approximation of one USN
cruiser that isn't in the game as of yet - the Brooklyn class, also with 5
triple 155mm turrets, built in the 1930's BEFORE the Cleveland's. That kind
of DPM, plus typical USN cruiser AA firepower - I can understand why WG
hasn't put that ship in game yet - right now it would be, at the least,
borderline OP.
+Mitchell Oates i think the mogami at tier 8 is fine, so put it there.... they can always nerf the ROF if it's too strong, as they did with a lot of others ^^
I feel like your comparisons should of been with the 203s on the Mogami.
The Atago plays like a Mogami with 203s and better torpedoes. The 155s on
the Mogami make it a completely different ship and you play the Mogami in
two different ways depending on the guns you have on it. But either way
good review and keep it up.
+Harrison Frede oh yeah definitely. With my full reviews, I take a lot more time to make sure I know at least in part what I'm talking about. That's why they take so long sometimes ;)
+CloakingDonkey It's ok. I find myself switching back to HE all the time when I should be shooting AP. Its a learning curve since HE has been so dominant for so long. Well you said you will be doing a full review soon enough so you at least have all the kinks out before you even being to write/film for it.
+Harrison Frede Yeah you may be right. I think it's due to me not even registering the 203s as being a real choice because I haven't fully landed back in "AP is not useless anymore" land... what a shit analogy xD
+CloakingDonkey Thanks for the preview! Bummer that you didn't get in a
full review for it - but hey, you never know when WG is going to change
something on you! At least this time it makes sense - god knows we don't
need noobs running around tier X games!
+Dysphoricsmile well I couldn't really get a lot of games in when it was on the test server... that weekend was super crammed and at the moment the games you get in it are just ridiculous. I can't base an opinion on games where I'm always top tier and never face a battleship more fierce than the Warspite ;) Got a review for the Ishizuchi coming up however. Already bought it and played a few games :D
Thank you for the video mate, it came a bit too late I was waiting for it
to buy it or not.
I'll just have to wait a little bit.
Keep up the good work!
+Nicolas Melot I'm really sorry about that. I had no idea they would remove it... didn't even cross my mind ._.
World of Warships - Independence in 0.4.1
Independence on Fault Line with the new patch gets to see all the changes that have come to the carriers. Balanced matchmaking, fighter manual action, and ...
When chasing returning attack group, many people do not kill all of them
because then it will take longer for enemy carrier, they have to recall the
group. If all of them dies they start reloading instantly. Although, if
there are low number of planes, many carrier players just feed them instead
of returning all the way back.
What's the best Flight Control you would recommend? I'm currently using 2
Fighters+1 dive bomber and feel like I'm struggling without torpedo bombers
but then have big concerns about not having fighter support. Any thoughts
or tactics would be appreciated.
Well firstly there are much better carrier captains then me if you want to see some master at work, iChase and Aerroon. But What I gather is you want to be good enough to use manual drop and kind of line of the drop so you can drag a move command through the ship. Sort of like --+-- with the ship on the line, swap to manual and drop with the correct lead as the aircraft are moving through the ship. You want targets that will burn, so any ship that has used damage control recently is a good target. I like to follow up my torpedo attacks with a bomb run after they've used damage control. For dive bombers it is all about the dot damage, you want it to stick. As far as DDs, it is really hard to catch them. I just try and keep them spotted, maybe torpedo once. I have had very little success with bombs on DDs. GL!
+Notser That's a fair response. Makes sense. I also wanted to ask about your Dive Bomber attack adjustment? You seem to only attack BB in this video and adjusted the attack vector to a straight on oval along the length of the target. I'd recently heard it's best to attack setting approx 30 degree vector instead of straight down the length? Can you give me some pointers on consistent Dive Bomber hits? I recently upgraded from 250lb bombs to 500lbs and am seeing a lot more misses on small targets, making defense against DD very hard. With big bombs, am I forced to attack big targets?
+Zen Locust I'm kinda in the same mode where I'm questioning what loadout to bring as a carrier. I would say if you can effectively land attacks with bombs and torpedoes then to use a standard build. If you can't hit consistently then run with the anti aircraft and just deny the enemy carrier.
You have the best luck with the Independence. All I ever see with it is
hordes of enemy Ryujo fighters and battleships that always thwart my
torpedoes.
+Curtis Stokman Fighter-focused Ryujos are cowards? Listen here, pal, you saw in this very video what happens when you sail a strike-focused Ryujo against an Independence. Even if the Indy has only one unit of fighters, yours will get raped, and then he will knock down the rest of your planes with impunity. It's even worse if the Independence has two fighter squadrons; now your fighters aren't even viable as a sacrificial distraction. It's the sequel to what we endured in the Zuiho whenever we faced a Bogue, who could also run multiple fighter units while we were stuck with one.As for your "no-skill" comment...I'm sorry, no. Coordinating your fighters for fleet defense and keeping a watchful eye on targets of opportunity certainly requires skill. Your anti-ship capabilities are greatly reduced, so you have to pick and choose your attack runs carefully; simply zerg-rushing enemy battleships isn't a viable tactic anymore. In fact, that's the very reason they changed the flight group options of Japanese CVs to begin with. But don't worry; American carriers can still use all-attack air groups up to tier 9. ^^
The reason your AA range went down is Indi's upgraded hull takes away the
secondary guns, which are also the 5km Flak guns, now all u got is the 40mm
Bofors with 3.5km range.
It's still an AA improvement though, you lose 2 single mount 127s and all the single 40mms turn into doubles and where the 127s where there's now a quad mount 40mm. Maybe some more 20mms Orlikons aswell.
