This didn't work for me! i have pro tools m-powered essential and i downloaded this update for my 10.7.4 imac and i tried installing my pro tools after downloading this update and it made no difference please help!

hey! i am confused, just a li'l help... if i download the 9.0 it WILL install on the Lion but needs to be updated to 9.0.5 to work after that? or te 9.0 wont install PERIOD :/ ?

I use the Slate Virtual Channel sometimes but often I do use the Virtual Mixbuss. It seems to add a nice colour to the overall sound. You can "group" them and do a global bypass to hear the difference. I'm using one of these on each stereo bus output (drums, bass, guitars, overdubs, lead vocals, backing box, keys, effect and 2 auxiliaries). When I bypass them the difference is quite noticeable. I guess it would be the same mixing ITB.

I find mixing ITB to be harder mainly due to the headroom. To have proper gain staging you have to start with very low levels and be very careful. Mixing with 20 summing channels, as I do, I have much more headroom from the get-go and I can mix much more aggressively and creatively I find. I think if you pass the finished mix through a bit of analog gear that it can always help. But you can also leave this for the mastering stage :)

This is an old topic but just for information, I tried that but as soon as I went back and forth to another machine the same thing happened. I don't work on just one machine and I don't want to have to buy my plugins 2 times. Long story short, the Ilok was broken, as apparently most first generations Ilok2 were.

Possibly, the problems with USB power. I had problems like that, when there was broken wire in my PC's powers supply. Or, maybe problems with mainboard condensers. But, probably, it's just problems with iLok device.
