What an excellent club this was. I was a regular for about 6l years,
calculations tell me around 90-96 but for some reason everything around my
time as a student is a little hazy. Loved the dank and sweaty, friendly
atmosphere at night, and it was even a great place in the day, serving the
most generous "ploughpersons" lunches ever.

Thanks for uploading this. I was a regular at the Basement on Friday nights
from 1983-1987 and DJ'd there on Fridays in 84-85 after Josh Dean
temporarily vacated the Friday night DJ slot. It remains my favourite venue
of all time. So many great, great memories. Nice to see Brian B fronting
the film too. The Basement RIP.

Blimey ... I was at Brighton and used the club from 77-79. DJ'd and then
run the Friday Nite Club - an eclectic time for club music with punk, mod,
disco, dub, new wave and rockabilly vying for playtime. we also promoted
jazz, blues and reggae down there.

loved the basement ...amazing memories down there with sweaty walls and
being dripped on but still loved it...danced my sox off for hours
....brighton has lost all the amazing underground dark clubs and
bars...such a shame..all too prissy now..
