Dorm room LEDs flashing to music (Years by Alesso)
I set up some LED light strips to go off to my music. There are lights all over my room, including some outside on my door in the hallway. They are hooked up ...
Hey man I really wanna do something like this but have no knowledge
whatsoever on what's plugged into what i would even need. I'm a complete
noob but wanna figure this out. Can you help me understand what I'd need,
where I could get what I would need, and what would need to plug into what?
I am @lordshezay on twitter and @shezay on instagram if you have any of
those.
Dam, that's actually pretty smart. But unfortunately I have the multi
colored leds.. But on the other hand, I feel like I can use my old receiver
and have my computer speakers, send the same signal to both of them
separately, and just use the receiver to power the lights.. I'll probably
try this.. In the summer. Thanks for the idea :O
How well is this working long-term?
Are you just controlling it all with common power to all the leds, and then
'switched' ground through the speaker ground connections? How well is this
holding up, as far as the LEDs lasting?
I don't have them anymore since I'm out of college but I had them set up the whole school year and I think some the year before as well, in either case everything still works. Everything is easily replaced and cheap so even if something dies it's not a big deal to get it working again. The RGB strip is set up that way with the ground connections being switched through the speaker ground, the other strips draw power from the speaker they're assigned to. So like the subwoofer lights are just plugged into the subwoofer channels in the receiver for example.
+blai bennett i would but i don't have this set up anymore :( try plugging the negatives into the positive channels on the receiver, mess around with it that way. i think i had the positive rgb hooked into the positive center, the negative rgb hooked into the positive side speakers, and the third negative hooked into the positive sub. careful you don't short it though, but i had to have the music turned up pretty loud. your receiver might have an auto shutoff if it shorts, but if not be careful you don't blow something.
+Daniel Sherry Please make a video of the leds wired into the different channels please i have some rgb light but the negative is for each color so it automaticly ground when i plug it in . please help
The LEDs cost about $10 for 4 1ft strips, and $16 for the 16ft multi-colored strip. You can get them on Amazon. I put the cables directly into the receiver, where the speaker cables go. They're put in different channels, so you get different strips lighting up with bass, rear speakers, and front/center speakers. Since I didn't use an amplifier or something, I had to turn the music way up.
I WAS CRAZY IN COLLEGE!
Do you believe in unicorns too? Click to see how real they are: //awe.sm/eGYrh and by crazy, i really mean weird. i was just weird. but things haven't ...
If I may interject, having some fat to pinch isn't a crisis but the idea of
being at almost 0% body fat as a negative really needs to stop. You can eat
bunches and maintain a figure that will look like you starve yourself.
There's healthy skinny and then mangy emaciated;there is a difference. I
don't expect everyone to agree with that as the status quo "in our modern
times" is that body fat is no biggie and the diet for it is ok. Regardless
of the health issues later in life :(
Healthy can be different for everybody. What might be a healthy weight or
body type for one person, may not be for another. So how she looked may
have seemed healthy to some people, but apparently it wasn't for her at the
time so she changed it according to her own health standards. All people
are different, and so there are varied definitions for healthy depending on
the individual. I'm not trying to be rude, I just wanted to add that point
=) Yay for health!
I am precisely 87 years old, hence my username. My scrotum resembles
Margret Thatchers face, and even smiles like her face too. I own a goat,
but it isn't well fed as it refuses to eat the left over newspapers. If
that is a deal breaker then I could pay you 1 chicken with an egg inside it
(not a chicken egg) as a deal sweetener? If we have a deal, then email me

Hate to judge ju or something courtney. You are a cute and funny girl. But
I have to agree with Neopanda. Well as long as you feel well, eat well and
you are happy. Well then it does not matter what we or others think ;).
Sorry to bring up the weight thing like many others, but it is becuse we to
not like our nice unicorn to fade away or something. Plus a bit more
courtney could not hurt ;P
yeah thats society for ya. They tell big girls they should be thin but THEN
OH WAIT if you get TOO thin... is bad. its really confusing which is why
people should just do whats healthy for them. If you want to lose weight
fine-if you want to gain weight fine. It really just comes down to people
minding their own business and respecting others.
What are you talking about?! People disliked that video? Thumbs down to
seven minutes of you rambling nonsense and then flashing your "hairy
a**hole"..? Psh. No way. It was pure genius, just like ALL of your videos.
Plus, you are totally adorable, so who cares what kind of videos you
make... Lol
bahahahah. that is basically my college life. me and my roommate made a
music video wearing head scarves dancing around candles to jar of hearts.
she ended up sticking a piece of tissue in a candle and almost started a
dorm fire..good times.
Has anyone noticed that thin girls are often told "you should gain weight".
Yet, you find heavier girls get the opposite advise. Kinda seems like no
matter what you do, there are a whole lot of people telling you to change.
I think you may have appearence issues because if back then was
"overweight" then i must be a damn whale. No offense but that was called a
healthy fit look now your too obsessed with your figure.
