we had the world cup ( football) in germany in 2006. 3 weeks that strongly changed the way we see ourselfs, open and friendly, it is still regarded by almost everyone as the best summer they can remember, it gave self confidence and joy, even though we didnt win^^ unless you had this feeling in recent memory i dont think you can grasp what such a short period of sport can do to a country. id rather cut a panzer regiment and have the money for tournaments then the other way around.

well their only unused if the planing is bad. the money flows into the economy and isnt burned, it can! boost development and possibly attrack tourism. but what i think is most important and worth the money is that a) the host nation gets a big bump in morality, which is very important, and b) it brings the attention to the good and bad of this country into focus for everyone around the world.

so many public hospital, public schools and roads and poor communities left to be saved by a miracle. i tell this: a country that does not invest in education as priority, has more crimes and a low development...maybe they do that on purpose...keep the people of a country stupid...that is the key!

Is the Olympics really worth it anymore? Why spend all that money building these structures when in the end many of them will be left unused or abandoned? Not to mention it was horrible affects on the people in that community.
