1968 Caddy Cadillac Eldorado 472 Big Block Burn Out Launch
Just showing what the caddy has for power. I know there are tons of other cars more powerfull, just not everyday you get a roll on a 375 hp 525 ft lbs toque front ...
Also, the transaxles in the FWD GM full-size cars from this era were the
TH425s, which were basically Turbo 400s that were mounted to the side of
the bellhousing and driven by a beefy-as-fuck chain. They're commonly used
in V8 conversion swaps into stuff like Corvairs and Fieros and stuff like
that. Hell, the "Mazdarati", as the Roadkill guys call it, uses an Olds 455
and TH425 out in the Mazda REPU's bed.
Also, the Oldsmobile version, the Toronado, won the Pikes Peak hillclimb's
stock car class in 1966. And it was FWD. If you've got a beefy engine and
trans with good power under the hood, you can still have fun. Hell, I'd
want to do this, even though I'm not a fan of FWD.
@brapboys503 380? That's great, but we were talking about big V8's here.
360? Hell, even my little tiny Ford Engine is 460 CID, so it;s got your 360
beat by a hundred inches. The "little" Cadillac engines were 472 CID, but
the standard engines were 500 CID. In retrospect, your 360 is tiny now. In
fact, I have never owned a car with an engine that small, except for one
307, which was immediately swapped to a 500. Lulz. I didn't even know dodge
made compact cars with V8's in them,
I have loved V8's and Muscle cars all my life, just too poor to own and
operate them lol. Not sure what point you are trying to make, Chevy make
way bigger size/powered engines than that. The more weight and power you
put into a FWD car, the worse they handle. I would have ANY standard spec
small block RWD muscle car with a half fucked engine over a big block FWD
piece of shit. Which would be better fun to own, a 502cid Camaro/Chevelle
or a 500cid Eldorado FWD?
You Sir are an asshole, quite pathetic with the lack of brains or
vocabulary at a 5th grade level. FYI that year eldo moves like a cat,
smooth like silk and quite fast. Torsion bars up front with leaf springs
and air shocks it certainly hold its own. An era of big fast luxury cars
that would throw you in the seat and would just fly. Sorry you missed it.
Now run a rubber hose from the exhaust pipe of your car and choke on the
fumes.
@TheDullahan I think you are far too inbred to even begin to know what fun
is lol. Honestly what a fucking piece of shit! It must be the worst
handling car ever made with a B/B mounted crossways and the fucking piece
of shit battles to even get one wheel smoking with all its stupid 472 cid.
For gods sake, even the British haven't make such a useless piece of crap.
I think you should go kill yourself, that would be "extremely fun"
I used to do that shit in my dad's 1973 sedan deville when I was in high
school back in the 80's, I would have been cranking some OZZY or TWISTED
SISTER or DIO or some shit like that and then before I took it home I'd
fill 'er up with 60 cent a gallon gas. I then would walk to a freind's
house, get drunk, eat pizza and watch NIGHT FLIGHT while his mom was
working third shift. My GOD, I think I just had a mid-life crisis!!!
@73Datsun180B Actually, considering the car I was talking about never had a
472 and can easilly do burnouts, I think you misread my original comment or
missed part of a comment string, as I cannot really recall what I said,
considering it was...what...a year ago? The same engine I was talking about
is also commonly used in cars built for racing. What do you drive? Good
chance I own one in one of my showrooms.
@TheDullahan That's Youtube for you! I drive a 92 Yamaha 50cc scooter at
the moment because my old daily drive 73 Datsun 180b is in my garage have
rust repairs done and a CA18det (1850cc twin cam turbo) fitted. It will be
a muscle car eater if I rebuild the engine for 500hp in a 1095kg car lol
I bet it was a lot of fun... I own a 1970th Eldorado with the 500ci in it.
Its dificult to start fast without burning the Tires because of torque and
HP. But i drive it slow and carefully most of the time. It keep running
over 40 Yaers now and it should run many Yaers more.
I'd say you had a bit of wheel spin there... :) I was reading somewhere
that occasional heavy acceleration is recommended to dislodge any carbon
build up in the exhaust system. I've been meaning to do something similar
once I'm back on the road in my 71 eldo coupe. Nice vid.
