So the other videos that say it's swearing, IT IS NOT SWEARING, ITS
LAUGHING. THATS WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE, ON THE PAPER, IT CLEARLY SAYS ITS
LAUGHING!!!!! DONT LISTEN TO THEM!!!!!!!! D:
McDonald's please make Happy Meals mean Happy Planet
Plastic? It's not so fantastic!2 kids (Savannah (8),Elliott (6)......had Two ideas: 1. Maccas start to offer kids a CHOICE of the PLASTIC toy ...or the new FANTASTIC ...
thanks, Natasha!1 little people have kept me busy in the best possible way!
My favourite thing is often just hearing them chat in the back of the car
without them knowing, they work out so much cool stuff just by themselves,
so Savannah one day said to Elliott (before handing the toy back to the
dumbfounded Maccas staff, not sure a kid EVER hands a toy back!) 'this is
such a DUMB toy, it does nothing at all, it's plastic and why can't they
give the money to kids or animals or someone instead?'
the kids are adoring their book...we have been pretty sick, all of us, over
winter....BUT we are on the mend and with school hols, we are off at some
point to Maccas head office...will keep you posted! ALSO, E had his
birthday party as a partyforacause and is making his donation to.....MANLY
PENGUINS! Yay! At some point, he would LOVE to volunteer and do something
with the penguins, his #1 favourite animals since he was a toddler
Thanks Costa! Savannah & Elliott will be chuffed the 'man with the really
big beard' - I'm sure that's you, not Tim they mean - likes what they're up
to! They had great fun making their posters and filming it, it was a BIG
thing for Elliott to keep still and keep quiet for the middle section and a
pretty big thing for Savannah to talk in front of everyone, but she was so
excited that people liked the idea!
Hi Kamil, everybody has the right to choose so thanks for sharing your
view. It would be much, much better if at the very least the toys were made
of wood or something entirely sustainable, and that the toys actually
served some kind of a secondary purpose as most end up at the bottom of the
toybox, broken and unplayed with. Our kids figure that they don't need the
toys, really.
wow, thanks so much Rachel for that from S&E! Kids are naturally curious
and when they keep saying 'why?' if we provide them with thoughtful answers
or help them think things through, they start naturally doing it for
themselves. Kids think anything and everything is possible, and it should
be possible for anyone, anywhere to make a difference, big or small! ;-)
THANK YOU Danielle, and thanks so much for your support! It is so amazing
we have kids the World over sending messages of support via real postcards,
via their parents on Facebook, and also here and in private messages. We
are gearing up to go and take our request to McDonald's in July sometime in
school holidays maybe ;-)
thanks jazeboy69, any help spreading the word and a share of their link
would be tops! When I asked them how many people or followers it would take
to change things, Elliott reckoned 65 likes and Savannah 52.......and then,
Maccas would just have to listen! BIG numbers for small people! So thanks
for being a liker!
thanks, Jo! So fab to get support! They had 2 likes last night, 12 when
they woke up and checked, if they get their magic number 65 through the
support of people like you by the time they come home from school, that
will be fab! Little people think a big number like 65 is definitely enough
to make Maccas listen! ;-)
YAY Jamie, thanks for sharing with your FABULOUS Kids at Switch! I can only
begin to imagine the amazing things you'll do with them to teach them about
platic and why it's so very bad to overuse it when we don't need to! Let us
know if any of them take a pledge to say NO to the toy...and hand it back
;-)
Thanks Melanie. We were just back from 10 magical days in Hawaii where they
snorkelled and we went on a Pacific Whale Foundation trip to the reef. I
think that reinforces even more how beautiful our one shared planet is and
so we boycotted the usual homework sheet..... and did this instead!
Thanks SoulNecta on their behalf (-this is their Mum!). All kids are
amazing, they have so many solutions, sometimes we just need to listen and
then help them have a voice...because if they believe anything is possible,
we should show them that maybe it is if it's what we believe in!
