Omg i just realised when John turns the wrong way the one in the middle
utters "wrong way john" and john proceeds to fight back a laugh in the next
dance bit
My mother introduced me to the trio and I have always adored John Denver.
It still makes me cry to think he is gone and lost to us forever more.
Thank goodness he left us with his music. As for the trio, one of the
greatest things I have loved about them is their humor and sense of whimsy,
but also their respect for social issues. I may be wrong but I don't see
the same sort of humor and respect in today's musicians (for the most
part).
Just a fubulous song with great harmony..... oh the folk era of the late
50's & 60's just can't be beat ... The seekers with Judith Durham, Chad
Mitchel, The New Christy Minstrels... just to name a few .... what an era,
what a sound .... if only we still had it today.... John Denver ... you are
truly a treasure and greatly missed, along with Judith Durham your music
means so much to me....
Yes, can you remember "Can't Wait Til You're Governor, Lurleen," "Either
You're A Congressman or Not (Adam Clayton Powell)," the " I Vas Not A Nazi
Polka" and Mike's solo of the song about Canada the name of which I could
never remember but his singing of it I will never forget.
I love John Denver! And his voice kept getting better,But this is Really
GREAT! Can any one tell me if you can buy this meeting? I sure would like
to have it.I listen to him every day,His music helps my heart calm from
hurting from my problems.R.I.P.John you are sorely missed!
I was early fan of CMT and then at Cellar Door when John Deutschendorf
joined them....DENVER and found he was an AF brat like ME. Too bad he died
so young. Saw the CMT last year in Bethesda and they were sooooo fine. Give
one shivers to hear their harmonies.
I saw JD in Ft. St. John, BC over 20 years ago and his voice live was as
pure as his recordings! Turn your head and one would believe it was a
mastered cut. Truly a gifted man. Why and how did songsmiths such as he
leave the "popular" mainstream? Truly sad.
Was always a fan of folk music, Kingston Trio, Limeliters, and of course
the Chad Mitchel Trio. Unfortunately I never had the opportunity to attend
any of their concerts. But a couple of years ago I had the honor to met
Chad in my home town. Great person.
this is great keep up the rare post of jd my idol I have not seen some of
the great rare stuff that u post keep up these great posts I have been
wanting to see this clip for some time thanksd for posting my idol jd keep
up the great posts!
Interesting - the first song is Ian Tyson's "Four Strong Winds". It was the
FIRST song of the 100's that he wrote (and continues to write). Recently
rated in the top 6 most influential songs in Canadian history.
What you did was understandable. Chad was and is a tremendous talent. If I
had not met John at that time I might have felt the same but to meet him
was to know he someday would be superstar.
You can see them Dec. 5 at the Big Bear ski resort north of San Bernadino
when they do a benefit concert to raise money for a new church for Father
Joe Frazier.
I grew up with the Chad Mitchell Trio, and later became a big fan of John,
as well. Good folk music just draws great players together.

+David Manhart I've always loved his series on creationists missing the point of evolution, and some of his lectures are fun and interesting, but lately I've just not paid him any thought.Especially how he went on stage one day and did the feminist mental gymnastics routine I've gotten quite sick of as of late.
+Steve Gutfeld I'm sure they had their Justin Biebers, but they faded into obscurity. Unfortunately with all the social media around that may not happen as quickly with Mr. Bieber.
+kap3181 Well, you know John Fogerty felt there was a 'bad moon on the rise' way back in the 70s, and Phil Collins warned us 'something's coming in the air tonight.. hold on.. hold on...' Prophesy written on the subway walls? hmmmm...
+infjard except that its really not. the level of sophistication involved in a piece or group is not dependent upon taste. I was referring to the tone and sophistication of music and the arts that has all but disappeared. please, do try to keep up
+Ethan Burshek this is just a nietschze way of saying "damn, millenials arent into the dumb shit i am into". as if these guys were superstars in their day anyway, get real
An absolutely beautiful cover. I love the Mitchell Trio version and you've
done it justice here. Awesome vocals and multi-tracking, the harmonies are
spot on. Really nice performance. !!
