After all these years I still miss John Denver. I had the wonderful opportunity to meet him one time and still have his autograph. I hope to met him again in the afterlife. The Flower That Shatters the Stone is my favorite John Denver song.

He actually wore them off and on, alternating with contacts.  I had heard that he didn't intend to wear them for this interview, but he had forgotten he had them on.

He WAS singing better than ever, and was well-positioned for something of a revival when he died. A real shame... but, on a more positive note, it's great to see this song sound so good on a six string (as opposed to its usual twelve) with no accompanying instrumentation. Talent.

I still mourn for him. He has a special place in the hearts of all of us who loved him. A year ago I was walking around Hinckley Lake in Northeastern Ohio and listening to JD on my ipod. For the first time ever I spotted an Eagle flying over the lake. I felt a shiver up my spine but my heart warmed. Thanks for this tribute to a great man.
