Buying a new car, you establish a relationship with the manufacturer and
dealers. Hopefully it is a trusting relationship filled with honesty. You
are entitled to a warranty, and if you are not satisfied with warranty
repairs, you can complain free to the Better Business Bureau Auto Hotline.
You may only be able to sue in court after going thru the BBB pogram. Seems
to me the process is slanted to favor the manufacturer, so good luck. And
be prepared for the dealer to retaliate if you complain.
UNSAFE HYUNDAI MANUFACTURER DEFECT. Better Business Bureau Auto Line
arbitrator Arthur C. Devine has determined that Hyundai has manufacturer
defect of motor mounts. Documents to the arbitrator indicate this is an
unsafe condition in that the suspension could separate from the vehicle.
Hyundai is not safe. The BBB claim is HYU1216311 and phone 323-319-4280.
From a May 12 hearing the problem is due to a unsolved constant vibration
throughout the passenger compartment with the car idling in park.
From Hyundai technical service bulletin number 12-BR-001 "During this test,
a slight noise (which customers may describe as a rattle, groan, growl,
gurgling, or buzz) may be heard and a mild vibration may be felt thru the
brake pedal."

Brian, I was wondering if I might get your advice. Aunt's Five Hundred, 40
K miles, fairly new battery, battery light comes on at idle for a minute or
so only when first starting. I assume it may be the alternator, but haven't
tested with volt meter yet. Thank you.
check the belt tensioner...the belt may be slipping slightly at start up...also look for fluids that may be leaking onto the belt and check belt condition...
