Canned Heat - Going Up The Country Lyrics: I'm going up the country, baby don't you wanna go I'm going up the country, baby don't you wanna go I'm going to ...
My best friend died a few months ago, he was just 22, and at his funeral,
as the curtains were drawn and he went on his final voyage, on came this
song. I now can't listen to this without crying. I miss you brother xxx
+bigboredthing I have the same thing with Jimi Hendrix's " Angel " - that was played at the church service for a really close friend who died in a bike crash. Funnily enough my friend looked a lot like Jimi. Was 7 years ago, but I still can't listen to that song even now without crying like a little bitch.
+bigboredthing .. thanks for your reply... reading that it was Murder makes it all the more tragic.... I hope the murderer will be rightfully punished for what he did.... not pretending to be overregiligous meself nevertheless I hope that we all will meet again in a place where time and space do not matter anymore... hoping you dont take me for cynical now all I can say bear up remenbering the good times you´ve had together...... best regards
+bigboredthing........... be sure that I can feel with you, I also had 2 loved onces die recently.... not trying to impose something on you I suggest you to listen to "oh didnt he ramble", an old black tune at funerals, this time played by the Dukes of Dixieland" on YouTube, a "white" band including the last words for the deceased plus a first slow then fast march back from the cemetary while singing "oh didnt he ramble".... you may like it, your friend may have also liked it.... regards from europe and sincerely sorry for your loss.... I know how you must feel....
