First time running after a good carb cleaning. Next task is electrics. She won't start with the electric motor. Not sure what's my problem yet, but that's for another ...
It sure does. The throttle cables are sticky so the return spring isn't
enough to snap back the throttle. Still need to find one of those cable
lube tools. Unbelievably smooth engine. I'm not looking forward to the
electrics tho. Lol
The K8 got new carburetors, with a accelerator pump. I think the K8 and the
F3 were the only SOHC CB750s with accelerator pumps. It sure does seem to
make a difference.
sounds like a plugged up idle air circuit to me. the intermediate and main
jets are getting enough fuel for the engine to run good with open throttle,
but close it and it dies. will it idle with the choke on? if so most likely
your carbs idle jet is plugged/restricted. at low rpm it sounds like you
are running on 1 cylinder,btw i also have a79gs425
I have an 80 cb750. Wont idle. it runs if you constantly rev it. But i take
it out on the street, whenever i hold on the clutch and let go of the
throttle, it dies. My guess is that its a loose throttle cable(because i
can see that there is some slack). The carburator? the sparkplugs(they are
black) or a pinched fuel hose..
check youre boots have you any vacume leaks the only thing that will do
that is more air the motor would have to pull the throttle open if you have
the return spring it should not do that also watch the throttle shaft.Does
it move DO all carbs open close at the same time it one carb slide loose?
check for power at the switch. double check your connectors. i'm doing a
cb750 81 myself. .. your first issue is to determine why the starter is not
turning over. DOUBLE and Tripple check yoru grounds. and get rid of that
meter. get yourself a digi from craftsman or anythign that has a readout.
much better than that thing your using there. pull the cover to yrou
starter under carb #1 and see what the situation is.
What happens when you kick start it? If the start button is hooked up
correctly and you have power coming from the battery, then check every
connection in between. Check the ignition switch? Do your lights go on when
you turn the key? they should. If the switch looks good and the light don't
work, then you need to figure out why power isn't reaching your lights.
Check your fuses for continuity with your meter.
Ninja 250 Rough Idle (cold start, then hard to find a happy idle at normal rpms)
I am wondering if the bike sat around the dealer longer than they claimed... and if they didn't bother doing anything with the "make ready fee". Won't share the ...
I have the same problem with mine. And it started smoking near my gear
shifter. It would idle at 3 and go up without the choke on. Please help.
And when I tried adjusting the idle it felt loose.
the smoke is most likely oil dripping down onto the exhaust... It happens, keep an eye on it though to make sure it doesn't get outta control... And you start leaking where you park or even run too low! :)by loose, do you mean the knob just spins real freely? If so, are you sure that adjuster is still connected? It shouldn't take a lot to to turn it, but there should be at least a little bit of resistance.
