Did you say that this huge project could provide 140,000 homes with
electrical energy? I think what this site is providing is energy to the
casino town. Am I wrong? If the money spent to design, engineer and
create this site would have been put into outfitting individual residences
with solar capability, I think something might have been accomplished. I am
not buying this story. Just like the 'Green' nuclear bill we've all been
talked into believing...Thorium not Uranium can provide clean and much
safer energy and much more of it, but Thorium doesn't produce Plutonium.
Solar and wind energy projects, including the use of Thorium could, in
fact, rid our world's energy crisis...but it is not about using the safe
and sustainable sources, is it? No, it is not. Keep taking great pictures.
In 2000 Primm had a population of 436. That size population would require
maybe 200 houses. Quite a bit less than 140,000. So the idea that Ivanpah
is providing energy only to Primm is wrong. Among other things, the plant
was sited where it is because of large transmission lines already in place
near it. The energy goes to large population centers, in the same manner
that most electricity in the Western US is provided from large power plants
located far away from the population centers.
