I have heard about that one and if I ever came to your country I would visit. Yeah what makes them fascinating is the history, and I can't even imagine what went on there. I personally believe that Dr Freeman whom carried out a lot of the lobotomies was on a par with the Nazi Doctor Mengle and should be remembered as one of the most evil men in history, but what is equally disturbing is the state santioning of these crimes and abuse- it happened in the UK as well. And most of these beautiful buildings are being taken over by developers. Whilst retaining the outer shell. The interior is lost. I beleive that all the suffering that went on in these places leaves something on the very fabric of space-time and in our human arrogance we think we know everything, when in fact we still understand so little about this universe. But I believe all these places are haunted, but we have a very limited understanding of what that actually means. There is one called severalls in the uk I hope to visit before it is DEVELOPED. Thank you! They are grand, beautiful structures. Many have not been spared, sadly, while others have been purchased and are in the process of renovations. The esthetic presentation of the architecture belies some of the atrocities that went on inside. These particular hospitals were known for patient abuse and neglect, which really hurts me deeply.
